A little bird told me it is portfolio day. I'm a watercolorist with a background in traditional illustration. I've been using the online space to experiment with digital textures and mediums. Monsters, creatures and Villains are my focus and joy. #portfolioday

every time i see some new attempt to Streamline and Optimize our Lives i think about this kurt vonnegut quote that does rounds. we're dancing animals! not everything needs to be optimized! sometimes a tedious task creates an unlikely opportunity to learn something about yourself! or for joy!!

screenshot of a tumblr post from user “wildmansters” The thing that really boils my potatoes about Al in general is that I have been a creative professional for over a decade now and the devil has ALWAYS been in the details. Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.

a photo of the plushie ornaments that got stolen. there's several kinds of dragons and that lil goose at the bottom these are the cat patches on the white corkboard frame, the shroom plushies, and the dragon/flower patches in their cigar box display another shot of the dragon plushies that are missing. of the 6 winged dragons in the middle, i hadn't actually gotten any of them listed in my kofi shop yet but there's a lighter blue one, a green one, a yellow one, a neon yellow/greenish one, a neon pink one, and a neon mixed green/pink/orange patterned one

Its really rich and dynamic- you should be proud. I grew up around so much Bosh and Bruegel that I see some influence there but its totally your own style and charm. Really inspiring!

The Trevor Project have their own helpline and webchat that are not shutting down. But they could probably really do with donations and support to make sure it stays that way.

Had a dream where I stole shitty cheesecake factory branded remote control cars. Like a bag of these, with tangled up wires, all scuffed. Fabric-y wires were fraying and there were decals on the side of the these blocky clunky plastic "race cars" with the typical sort of cheesecake factory stripes.
The aforementioned dream cars, sketched badly. A blocky remote control car with bright, wide set wheels and a dial control on a frayed red wire. The car has a spoiler and a molded plastic seat and the side has cheesecake factory's logo and stripes, probably on one sticker
