Wow, Google has withdrawn its support from factchecking organisation @fullfact.org

It’s been one of the largest funders but now has cut its financial support.

I’m pretty sure this is so misinformation can run rife.

Bicester & Woodstock MP Calum Miller has welcomed a victory in Parliament that will ensure military family housing is held to the same legal standards as civilian rented homes. We reported on this in September. 👇

Bicester & Woodstock MP Calum Miller has slammed Labour’s decision to block an amendment to the Renters Rights Bill ensuring military housing meets formal 'Decent Homes Standard'. In 2024, the MoD took ownership of over 36,000 privatised military homes, many substandard. www.gov.uk/government/n...

NEW: The British politician, his Russian intelligence handler & a Kremlin plot against the US & Ukraine.

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

Working with Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, I've secured £245,234 of investment to bring a Best Start Family Hub to Oxfordshire - opening April '26!

We are building on the proud legacy of Sure Start, reviving family services and putting them back at the heart of every community.
Oh, I heard it was the Canterbury Tales in authentic old English.

Brexit is Farage and his fellow Brexiters' shitstorm to own. He/they can't be allowed to just pivot from heckle to heckle and bad idea to worse - while blaming everyone else - without consequences.

So the suggestion that Labour are going to amplify that truth is to be welcomed.
This must not be allowed to happen in the UK.

This is a huge story but massively under the radar in the UK.

A US Christian legal org called the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is working to roll back abortion rights here using the same playbook it used in the US: briefing politicians, watching, waiting.

Comparing Congress to the Duma is (obviously) not a good thing; it’s a rubber stamp to Putin’s plans. A Russian colleague called it the “crazy printer” for the way it “printed” laws without any debate or consideration.

And let’s be clear: they’re not “joking.” It was planned. They’re thrilled.

"Inside the White House, top advisers joke that they are ruling Congress with an 'iron fist,' according to people who have heard the comments. Steve Bannon, the influential Trump ally, likened Congress to the Duma, the Russian assembly that is largely ceremonial."

Happy Birthday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez!
As a water protector at Standing Rock in 2016, her experience protesting against DAPL led to her wanting to do something more. In 2018, at age 29, AOC became the youngest woman to be elected to Congress. She serves the New York 14th congressional district.

Um, I was just alluding to the idea that if the Botley road bridge is an example of how good we are at putting in new bridges when there is a road/rail combination then this bridge, that is already being described as 'complex', might take a loooooooong time.

The hostage release is a reminder of how bad the Dems are at politics. Not only did Biden refuse to force this deal on Netanyahu & thereby help Harris win, but most people aren’t even aware that Biden got way more Israeli hostages (over 100) released with his 2023 ceasefire than Trump did with his.

The US federal attack on Portland has resulted in the best advertisement for a city that I have ever seen. Round-the-clock joy, community solidarity and silliness that much of the West has lost and longs for.
Let's not forget that poor family in The Telegraph who were not going to be able to afford 5 holidays a year because of the VAT imposition.
Well, right until it transpired they didn't actually exist.

Trump helping to negotiate the release of the hostages in Gaza and hopefully end the war is a good thing.

And it does not, in any way, mitigate or excuse the authoritarian dystopia he and his cronies are imposing on the US. Our dark path is no more lit today than yesterday.
