Glad to see this @christineBoyle, Mayor Sim has been off from day one !
I’ve let Mayor Sim know that we won’t be calling Park Board legislation (Bill 26) for second reading this Fall.

The City of Vancouver has more work to do clarifying their intended direction, including working with Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

Canadians deserve an NDP that fights for people, not powerful interests. Last election showed we need real change. A rushed leadership race means more of the same.

Thanks to park board workers for doing this #SavedParkBoard
The Park Board is out beautifying our neighbourhoods. If you see these signs or you see the gardeners, give thanks for the work that’s done that makes our city so beautiful.

I saw @libbydavies.bsky.social call the remaining @ndp.ca caucus:

"The group of 7"

I can't think of a better moniker for the 7 NPD MPs in Parliament.

The Liberal candidate in Esquimalt–Saanich–Sooke presents herself as a champion of workers, despite the fact she recently worked at BC’s most vilified anti-union law firm

Stephanie McLean was also a Pierre Poilievre donor in 2023 before deciding to run for the Liberals last month:
This Liberal candidate claims she supports ‘workers’. But labour leaders call her track record ‘disingenuous’.

BC labour unions say Liberal candidate Stephanie McLean worked for an ‘anti-union’ law firm that is ‘widely vilified in the BC labour movement’

That was a great day of meeting with voters in the west end and so energizing to see how @avilewis.bsky.social listens and engages and demonstrates what an excellent MP he will be! We need his voice in Ottawa to keep the govt honest !
I just had a fantastic day spreading the word about @avilewis.bsky.social with the legendary @libbydavies.bsky.social, the first Canadian MP I interfaced with ten years ago now!

The seven Park Board Commissioners collectively earn $149,846 annually.

Remember that number when people say abolishing the Park Board will save over $7M per year.

Abolishment is about making decisions behind closed doors. It’s not about saving money.

Vancouverites have overwhelmingly rejected the direction of ABC. Both successful candidates campaigned against abolishing the elected Park Board. @davidebybc.bsky.social @jervaler.bsky.social, no democratically elected body should be suspended without a clear mandate from voters. #vanpoli #bcpoli 1/

Absolutely! Thank you Vancouver voters despite long line up for voting for democracy and sending Sim and ABC a strong message!
#Vancouver voters rejected, in the loudest and clearest terms, any mandate to abolish the democratically elected park board.
@davidebybc.bsky.social and @nikisharma.bsky.social, it’s time to reassure Vancouverites their voices will be heard. Thank you for your continued leadership. #bcpoli #vanpoli

Fantastic & huge congrats to @seanorr.bsky.social @lucymaloney.bsky.social for such great wins turning the tide #yvr #by-election Ken Sim did you get the message ok?
April 6, 2025 at 3:22 PM
I’m hoping this civic byelection has a good outcome & strong message to Ken Sim that he’s lost trust & taken our city in the wrong direction. Voting for @lucymaloney.bsky.social will help deliver that message!
Ken Sim is pointing the finger, when he should be getting shovels in the ground.

We need more homes - of ALL kinds, in ALL places, for ALL people.

I will fight Ken Sim's cruel ban on supportive housing, and for more of the deeply affordable homes we need, all over the city.
