Vaccines are a bloody miracle. We eradicated smallpox in my lifetime because of them. We were on the verge of doing the same to polio. These are *miracles*, yet these purblind fools are about to drag us all back into a dark age of needless deaths and misery.

It makes me quite, quite cross.

With all the *gestures around wildly* going on, I thought I’d re-up my gear recommendation for a hot protest where there’s likely to be gas deployed. This kit aims to solve two problems:

1. Stop the gas from settling on the skin of your face, head, and neck

2. Be cheap enough to throw away after

I cannot tell you how much it sucked seeing Chomsky say this five days after it happened but finding out he was cooking up this take while taking favors from Jeffrey Epstein really adds another layer of bitterness

I can't believe this is a real thing.

not only the death tolls were correct, i guess we're going to have to wait a few years for an admission that the hospitals weren't ever legitimate targets
Oh my gosh, those who accused Palestine of lying were, in fact, lying themselves. From Israel to America to Ireland, they were running cover for butchers involved in massacring civilians intentionally in collective punishment. Shame, shame, shame

Coding Is When We’re Least Productive
One old dragon that’s reared its head again in this “age of AI” is the very wrongheaded notion that productivity == code. Managers aim to maximise the amount of code their dev tea…

Maybe - IMO, more likely - it was a queer woman deploying the most basic-ass elementary survival tactic that any marginalized person and women in particular are taught the hard way from early childhood: be nice, or else

people look at me funny when i say the yanks fund political divisiveness shite here in Europe

steve bannon just the other day outright stated they were trying to find an irish trump -- me being correct 6y in advance hasn't been as helpful to me as it should've been ;)
11/ So when Fredrik says that nobody knew who Charlie Kirk was, he demonstrates clearly how little he knows about a movement that has taken over the government of our closest ally. A movement in which our own homegrown fascist terrorist ABB is famous.

this one vehicle:

- ford ranger
- heavily shortened cargo bed, due to the extra 2 seats in the back
- pristine paint job without a sploch of unpaved dirt

used for the school run, everyday
Walked past a car in town (that definitely wasn't being used for labour or farming) where the top of the bonnet was fully level with my shoulder. What are we even doing here

regardless of what the merits of genAI actually are, the whole blockchain debacle showed me a lot of credentialled professional types are bad at critically evaluating or even understanding technology pitches
Nothing has highlighted just how technically illiterate the senior business management and political classes are right now as the whole AI thing.

Just an entire generation of "leaders" incapable of spotting a bad sales pitch because of some woo woo tech words that sound cool.
We want to make sure tutoring isn't the preserve of a lucky few, but accessible to every child who needs it.

AI can help us do that.

Safe, personalised, one-to-one learning support to help every child achieve and thrive.
