It's still f***ed up! And while there are some who legit think Trump is some kind of God-king, Johnson's not one of them; he's a classic fundamentalist. And in that system, leaders are not to be questioned, because they speak for God.

I came here to disagree with her about Donald Trump being God, but upon listening to her, that wasn't what she was saying.
She was saying "...obedient to his authority, (gestures to show level) who is Donald Trump, (gestures to higher level) who is God. She was showing the hierarchy.

The Frog is the best thing to happen to American politics all year, but the fact that politics has devolved into Posting is ultimately a bad thing. As you can see in the grid of outcomes, the majority of the time, people are simply posting at each other instead of engaging with reality or solving collective action problems. The question of who wins or who loses in Triangle Posting Politics is divorced from material conditions, justice, or the common good.

Most of the Shining documentary 'Room 237' was kinda dumb, but I found the theory about Kubrick tying the hotel's haunting to the genocide of Native Americans pretty compelling. And it cast the elevator blood scene in a horrifying new light.

I always imagined this could be fertile ground for clever, subtle sci-fi. Stuff like "someone figures out that the reproducibility crisis is because some universal constant changed a little out from under us, and now everyone's freaking out about what it could mean and where it leads."
