This is the guy who likened LTNs in Oxford to the Holocaust, and that a councillor was "the equivalent of Mengele"

Jeremy Mogford, Oxford hotelier and chairman of Oxford Business Action Group, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his 100-year old mother Patricia Mogford. The 77-year old was charged together with 71-year old Sarah Pickering from Guildford.
Agree about too many sheds with wasteful parking (every branch in Merton including those spitting distance from a train station), but can give two relatively recent Lidl stores with flats above: Upper Tooting Road, and Crown Point between Streatham and Crystal Palace.
Yeah, both have car parks too.
AFAIK it's LB Islington, and the traffic order which appears to relate to the scheme says nothing about speed limit

The officer replying was indeed me. I remember it vividly. I had a hard time formulating that response😂😂😂
Well, if the officer was Mama Moose then you could imagine the eye rolling ...

My favourite objection to a cycle hanger was the "Poor Feng Shui" one, sub'd to Brent Council in Jan 2020.

The cycle hanger was installed.

Those numbers are outrageous 😎

And hat-tips to @westcountrytim.bsky.social @bobfromaccounts.bsky.social and @highpoh.bsky.social for noticing the cycle counters had been rebooted in late September.
Will try and wiggle past at least once a week ...
Friday 17 Oct'25, mid-afternoon, grey:
> cycleway #CS3 #C3 Vicky Embankment 5,956 cycle journeys by mid-aft, 267,945 journeys since the reboot in late Sept;
> #CS6 #C6 Blackfriars Road: in news that won't surprise regulars, the rebooted counter has failed again with "please wait sign starting"

"Secured by Design" and people complaining about noise would see the end of this in the UK.
friend and I had drinks with her cousin and his 7yo kid in Marseille and he brought us to this pedestrian square that's basically lots of terraces with a playground in the middle so the adults can do lunch/drinks/dinner while keeping an eye on their playing kids and......why is this not everywhere
Not another vehicle trying to escape?

If dangerous cyclists are so dangerous then why haven't we ever seen a bicycle sticking through a second or third story wall after crashing?

Weird that it happens to cars so often though. They must just teleport up there or something.

Putney should be a transport success story: 2 Tube stations, rail to Waterloo, buses everywhere, riverboat service. Instead, residents are talking about leaving because of traffic.
The culprit? Ideology replacing common sense.

Putney gridlock shows what happens when ideology replaces common sense - Putney.news
Putney’s traffic nightmare shows how anti-car ideology, poor planning, and rising charges are pushing residents to breaking point.

Stickers are up on signs for the new 'taxis allowed' East-West at Bank.

Old restriction ended on Fri evening... and amended restriction begins on Mon am.

Pic 3 at E side will be ineffective while Leadenhall has a W'bound closure (=only way for taxis to get to Cornhill during restriction hours).

Definitely going to be some new cycle tracks opening on the Westminster side of the bridge, as separate🚦have gone in for cyclists and some bike boxes/ASLs have been removed.

Some pics around the 'weekend switchover' at Lambeth Bridge.

The built eastbound (to 'south of the river') cycle track is signed as a C-route (+ NCN4). At least one more route sign is waiting to go up.

8/ After an initial week of folk trying out the #Silvertown bike bus, the usage has settled down into a stable 120-or-so per day. It's rare for anyone to be left behind.

The bike bus is free for the first year, and contracted for three years.
7/ #TfL's #Silvertown tunnel report is out (PDF: content.tfl.gov.uk/silvertown-a...) ... and the half-arsed difficult-to-find cycle bus service averages 120-130 users per day.

#TfL wants "influencers" to promote it with tiktok vids 🤦
. @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social @nutty.bsky.social I see you're both posting #Silvertown bike bus stuff ...

... so where's your TikTok videos, or ain't you "influencers"?
Half of these Qs are ways for MPs to get into their local papers (esp Reach pubs which will recycle parly answers).
Half are MPs satisfying/ fobbing off constituents "Yes, I'll ask the minister .. here's their answer" instead of "you dimwit, ask your ward councillor"
"You've avoided prison by the skin of your teeth"
