It’s beginning to look a lot like A Very Theory Xmas…
Yes, everyone, it's time for another Very Theory Xmas. We're here until early January with Terry Eagleton's chocolate orange, shameless theory puns, and of course #LastZizekIGaveYouTheReal. Rejoice!

Well done sis!
I'm over the moon that my poem, Nightstepper, has won the poetry prize in the @walklistencreate.org 'Walking in the Dark' competition. Congratulations to all who were part of this lovely evening of words, and to the judges for their generous comments.

The free speech activist who built a list of professors he worked to get fired for their speech must be celebrated for his support of free speech, and anyone who quotes his speech accurately in context will be fired and/or face state punishment by the champions of free speech, do I have that right?

*Our new LTN paper out today*

Do 'boundary road' junctions with minor roads get safer when minor roads are filtered (i.e. closed to through-traffic)?

We tested this using police-reported casualty data (2012–24) from 113 London Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) introduced between 2015–24.

Our paper (@davefev.bsky.social + others) out today shows London LTNs have led to est. 613 fewer road injuries (-100 Killed or Seriously Injured).

No significant impact (with benefits for cyclists/motorcyclists) on boundary roads.

For Blue Monday we can't think of anything more appropriate than this charming depiction of a man getting his face eaten off by a leopard.
