I really like the phrase "Kavanaugh stop." It's not a Terry stop, because a Terry stop is short and based on reasonable suspicion of a crime. A Kavanaugh stop, by contrast, is when masked goons kidnap a person for speaking Spanish.

I may be overly cynical here, but mostly I’m cynical about the LLMs, not the real people. The people who wish they could have the dream of earning by posting are being pushed out of even the edge cases where that worked for a time, by technocapitalist fascism. That sucks for them.

The bird site has content and engagement, and the sky site has things to talk about and people talking about them. The first two are increasingly LLM-gen and thus dying out in terms of usefulness for making a living, and those locked into that culture seem not to easily grasp non-monetized chat.

One day I’ll be replaying Scarlet Hollow four times to try subtly different dialogue choices, and then suddenly that will feel LIKE A WASTE OF TIME and I’ll switch over to Stardew Valley to perfect my farm. Or to a MOBA or something.

My version: Sometimes the brain will cycle what it wants. I vacillate between playing nothing but story-based games like VNs and CYOA text games and similar, playing system builders/rpgs, and playing competitive multiplayer. 1/2
