Obvious but worth saying. We really think the White House/DOJ which disappears documents and people pretty regularly is gonna go, "Welp, House voted so I guess we have to turn over the stag films of Trump with a 15 yr old. The rules are the rules." I'm not saying the exercise is pointless at all.

Hey folks, as news of Watson's demise spreads, please don't set aside his weighty legacy of misogyny and racism. He was truly among the worst of us. www.vox.com/2019/1/15/18...
DNA scientist James Watson has a remarkably long history of sexist, racist public comments
“People say it would be terrible if we made all girls pretty,” he said in 2003. “I think it would be great.”

Check your ballot Seattle friends.

You can also sign up for alerts so you know when it’s been counted or if there are any issues.
There's lot of challenged ballots in Seattle. Challenged ballots disproportionately skew younger with over half from people under age 45.

The astronomy app that I use (SkySafari) has a cheerful little chime it makes for events like the ISS coming into visibility overhead.

They should work up some sort of sad-trombone noise for SpaceX Starship re-entries.

So let me get this straight: you are so gullible that a random person off the street can join a conversation that sensitive. Isn't that what you're saying? What are you going to do when a genuinely sophisticated person tries to join your chats?
Wow — Mike Waltz on Fox News suggests Jeffrey Goldberg somehow schemed his way into the Signal group instead of just being invited by accident

if you find yourself reluctant to support the guy at Columbia because you find some of the politics he espoused distasteful or even abhorrent, you should know that this is exactly the reaction that they hoped for in choosing him as a target for unlawful detention based on political speech.

I think that this misses a key point: ticked-off Dems, which include me, keep saying "They mean the things they're saying, so take them seriously." We think that the Dem leadership needs to act on that fact -- and the 'wait and see' approach explicitly ignores it.

We should we be angry and scared.

I don't know whether I should say this for fear of giving the fact away to the people now running the government, but the ACS race and ethnicity tables are still available as of this morning.

If you depend on that data, download it now.

Is this a poll of voting behavior or of self-identified party membership? Because this looks to me like the poll shows there are a bunch of Democrats who should be Republicans and vice versa.
From a June Navigator survey among 18-34 year olds.

In the survey, 25% said the Democratic party was moving closer to their views, 43% further away. For the GOP it was not exactly an endorsement either: 26% closer/45% further away.

Here are word clouds of the "why":
