I have just gotten voicemails this week - I started with individual calls and then switched to multiple issues per call. I did run into a time cap on one of them though, so it’s certainly something to keep in mind!
I feel like if the issues are stated distinctly enough multiple per call is ok?

@5calls.org is also a great tool to recommend. It removes a lot of the prep work (finding the number, thinking about what to say) so you can just make the call.

Let's talk about the "escalation ladder". At any point in a conflict, you have a number of self-defense options ranging from lower risk (legally, ethically, physically) to higher risk.
On the bottom rung of the escalation ladder are options like raising your voice. At the top would be deadly force.

This is an excellent thread and has been something I’ve needed even in thinking about personal interactions and wanting to be able to react to potentially negative information coming my way. This framing is so helpful.
In my self-defense classes I focus on how most people are socially conditioned to follow the norms of a civilized, polite society — and there is a MENTAL SHIFT required to use violence to defend from violence.
