EXPLOSION DE LA CRIMINOULITÉ EN FRANCE

A very informative but very dark thread because of the direct quotes from the said fascist authors, involving violence against animals, specifically cats (post 4) and racism (posts 10 & 11)

Today I am mostly thinking about the popular inter-war literary genre 'animal stories written by fascists'. Join me.
Title page of a collection of animal stories by Henry Williamson: TARKA THE OTTER, SALAR THE SALMON, THE EPIC OF BROCK THE BADGER, CHAKCHEK THE PEREGRINE.

I did not exactly “enjoy” this but it was informative and eye-opening. Thank you

Two cows peering at me from a field at the top of some steps, where they keep the money they have stolen from people's houses

1. Name and shame the companies that use low-income countries’ lack of regulation to get away with this
2. This is what you guys want in the US?

Gaza is not the only ongoing genocide.

We don't hear much about South Sudan because the West has no skin in the game.

People we don't know are killing each other? Oh well. Not exactly pressing news, is it?

It should be.

El Fasher Resistance Committee:

After a year of suege and famine in El Fashir, manufactured by UAE-backed RSF, animal fodder has run out.

Resistance Committees Coordination - El
Fasher
There is nothing left to eat today. All food supplies have run out, and even the alternatives people used to cling to for survival are gone. The Ambaz have disappeared, and the city is besieged from all directions by militias, the silence of the state, and the indifference of the world. We write, we shout, and we appeal, but it seems that words fall into a void: no aid planes, no humanitarian bridge, no real international action, no ground operation to lift the siege. Time is passing, hunger is increasing, and death is claiming lives. Today, we no longer count the number of clashes, for they are relentless. We no longer count the crimes, for they are too numerous to count. Talking about hunger is no longer enough, for we have moved beyond the stage of complaint to the stage of slow annihilation.
We write, but no one hears us. We call for help, but no one answers. It seems that we will be content to watch, as the world around us does.
We see our city being wiped out, and we die while resisting, simply because we have no choice but to resist. A mass death, amid the silence of the world.
Time is running out, and hunger will kill us before the cannons.

This is horrifying. UTIs in women are so common in our 20s and 30s that in the NHS, we are just sent to the pharmacy for them, like it’s a common cold or a cut. Imagine being told that you can’t get insurance and a modicum of comfort in your last few days because you soldiered through a few UTIs

This is absolutely fricking horrifying. Women’s UTIs are so common place that in the UK the NHS sends you to the pharmacy for these - like a common cold!

try to colonize the minds of human beings who have actual working bodies, trying to feel physical sensations through them. Finally they drive a man to death so that they can experience “death” virtually.
krittikaa.bsky.social
There was a short story by an author I won’t name (ps he was a criminal - I read this story when I knew nothing about him) where a type of alien being develops technology that allows them to experience all the pleasures of the world virtually. Their bodies atrophy and they … (contd)

Sam Altman plowing trillions into a s*x bot, meanwhile innovation in women’s health is still at the “sorry-gonna-have-to-amputate your bre*sts and uterus” to keep you alive bc we don’t invest sh*t into women’s health.

I don’t think we had A Shropshire Lad (probably the education board thought it would be too hard for us to relate to?)
But we had to do a group recitation of “Curfew Shall Not Ring Tonight” and I was the sexton 😂

I had forgotten that one of my post-flu complications is severe joint pain for some reason. That is worse than muscular pain somehow

The frustrating bit is not the content but the additional cost, admin burden and - let’s face it - humiliation. I remember paying around £400 to ECCTIS to certify that my MBA degree was conducted in English; it feels a bit unnecessary to have to prove my proficiency again and again given my job

We are getting into “haha wouldn’t it be funny to hear [insert well-known bit of English literature] in [insert variety of South Asian accent]” territory

Guys. We study English in school. What accents do you think our teachers have while reciting Shakespeare and Wordsworth and Blake?
