Back when I did my top 100 chart, I pretty much had to exclude vns since not only got could I do a similar one for vns because of how many I've read, it made picking 100 games really hard at first.

Like I would rate both Sengoku Rance and Rance X pretty high in my own vn ranking, but I know full well there's two huge barriers to that series. The length and commitment to that, and Rance doing Rance shit, and both are very valid reasons to not want to jump in.

Yeah like I know some people who aren't Rance fans and even they are aware of how massive Rance X is, and to arguably get the most out of it you'll need to play the previous ones. Which are not small games, at all. Its a huge undertaking regardless if you vibe with Rance as a series.

As much as I shit on Arise, I did have some enjoyment with the first half even if the game gets hilariously bad and tone deaf with its themes past a certain point.
