Unfortunately I don’t find your anti communism funny when anti capitalism has been designated as a terrorist activity. Sorry!

Machado is a massive Donald Trump supporter. She dedicated her win of the Prize to Donald Trump. She in particular is a huge supporter of Trump's crimes against humanity, summary executions of Venezuelan mariners by firebombing & drowning at sea. That is who you disgustingly call a superb choice.

Yeah! That's where the old expression comes from: "choppa the dick, autism is thick; leave the prepuce, no autism juice"
justinbaragona.bsky.social
Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

"So is PubMed/MEDLINE still getting updated?"
klockwerkluka.bsky.social
So is PubMed/MEDLINE is still getting updated.

Based on yesterday's update files things are still happening... ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/updat...

Not really sure what long-term implications are (if the shutdown continues).

Any ideas #medlibs?

Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad. Stop believing I wanna see it or that I'll understand, I don't and I won't. If you're just trying to troll me, I've seen way worse, i'll restrict and move on. But please, if you've got any decency, just stop doing this to him and to me, to everyone even, full stop. It's dumb, it's a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it's NOT what he'd want.
To watch the legacies of real people be condensed down to 'this vaguely looks and sounds like them so that's enough,
, just so
other people can churn out horrible TikTok slop puppeteering them is maddening. You're not making art, you're making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else's throat hoping they'll give you a little thumbs up and like it.
Gross. And for the love of EVERYTHING, stop calling it 'the future. Al is just badly recycling and regurgitating the past to be reconsumed. You are taking in the Human Centipede of content, and from the very very end of the line, all while the folks at the front laugh and laugh, consume and consume.

Saskatchewan is so much better than this.

Now is not the time to expand trade with Israel -- a country that is committing genocide, deliberately starving civilians, carrying out forced displacement, expanding occupation, etc.

I *THINK* what happened was:

* Automatic indexing continued, however without human quality control. Leading to....
* A lot more indexing errors and issues with records
* Backlog for workers if/when they return meaning it would take several months to "catch up"

Does that sound right?

I'm trying to remember what happened for the 2019 shutdown but I honestly cannot remember it affecting my/our work all that much.

The entire last 10 years has been a blur though.

New argument against AI regulation just dropped. Checkmate, atheists.
www.wsj.com/tech/peter-t...
For about a year now, Thiel has been publicly laying out his understanding of biblical prophecies and the potential for the rapid advance of technology to bring about an apocalyptic future.

In a lecture Monday, he encouraged an audience to continue working toward scientific progress, whether in AI or other forms of technology. Fearing or regulating it, or opposing technological progress, would hasten the coming of the Antichrist, Thiel said, according to people who attended.
