Oh, no, I'm not usually awake when flickering lights in empty cityscapes become pockets of vitality and movement, sorry.

And, when I am, it's because I've made some very bad sleep decisions.
New PDS, new display name, still only using chapter titles from N. K. Jemisin's "Broken Earth" series because I can probably keep this up for a long time.

(Not being at a Bluesky address, my username no longer references something red. Some of you may be aware of how this was a bittersweet choice.)
Missed this thread when it hit the news (probably because I was traveling), but we have proof now that the IDF just puts together 3D models-- using stolen assets, even!-- and tells whatever stories it wants about them to tech-unsavvy media types who are happy to repeat their genocide-excusing lies.
NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war
Yeah I feel like it deserves more mention than it's getting. But not everyone has been following the Erik Prince saga for 20+ years, whereas Nazi tattoos kinda speak for themselves.
And I was superseded by PCI Express in 2004!
I also feel like him being a Blackwater mercenary in 2018 is worse. Like. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in favor of Nazi tattoos, but the Blackwater mercenaries were a force of severe evil during the George W. Bush years-- someone who joins them during the Trump years is really telling on themselves.
He's also a former Blackwater mercenary, apparently!

Where the fuck did the Maine Democratic Party find this guy.
Wow, ok, I was not expecting this to blow up this way, but I'm happy to see so many Utena fans on Bluesky today!

If any of you meddlesome heroes are able to chip in to help a trans boy in need, he's appreciate it so much: www.gofundme.com/f/help-cover...

(Powering through feeling this is gauche.)

Thank you; it definitely seems to have found Bluesky's Utena fan contingent!
Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's a girlfriend who's never lost her nobility even as she's set aside the parts of her youthful idealism that were holding her back from connecting with other women.
Hi Maeve! Hi Linette! I hope y'all are having a nice time~!
Vast oceans reduced to shallow creeks vs. the reversal of the Chicago river to prioritize the water quality in Lake Michigan and make our pollution Louisiana's problem.

Is this anything.
Huh! Weird.

I'll see if there's any variation depending on which browser I use, I guess?
It's the latter. If I'm posting via Blacksky, whether I paste a bsky.app or blacksky.community link it just doesn't generate a preview at all.
Anyone else who's using something other than bsky.app (like blacksky.community or deer.social) to browse: how do you copy a skeet and get the like-a-quote link preview?

It isn't working for me with either the alt webapp link or the bsky link; I have to go back to the official app to make it work.
I do think about this Le Guin quote a lot.

It doesn't mention knives, but, you know, different writers different vibes.
Have we not eaten while another starved? Will you punish us for that? Will you reward us for the virtue of starving while others ate? No man earns punishment, no man earns reward. Free your mind of the idea of deserving, the idea of earning, and you will begin to be able to think
You're very good at giving off chill vibes, for what it's worth. Obviously I know that that doesn't correlate with a propensity for internal calm.
I just refer to everyone by name, as though of course they should already know who that is, implicitly daring anyone to ask who that person is again.

Or I say "one of my people" or something similarly vague, if there's a privacy concern and I don't necessarily want to name a name.

They’re still cruising around abducting people. Please watch your street if you can and be prepared to blow a whistle or call the ICIRR FSN hotline: 855-435-7693
If you’re working from home on the north side today, it sounds like there have been a lot of 🧊 sightings in neighborhoods along the northern end of the brown line. Consider stepping outside and watching your block, especially during school dismissal. People are scared and could use friendly faces.
Also they hate all other beholders, so they'd be great at social media discourse.
Harrow's would be, though.

(As in the ones Harrow makes. She would not wear them herself except in the direst of circumstances. But she does find herself in the direst of circumstances sometimes, so.)
I'm like the co-worker version of that beautiful and talented wife who has mysterious obligations on the night of the full moon where she turns into a snake or whatever.

Only the things I'm hoping my co-workers never ask about are the signs of my bizarre sleep schedule and intense lack of monogamy.
Some movies are just set in the social world of the very well connected, but since these movies aren't necessarily about the nepotism involved in that life, they simply omit how the fuck 20-somethings get that sort of job.
