Even for me as a 40 year old cis-het Pakeha I cannot fathom the level of overconfidence in a literal vacuum. It hurts my brain

The ridiculous thing about Luxon's ignorant comments is my union has done amazing work over the years working constructively with the company to everyone's benefit. It's not perfect but most people don't want to strike. The fact so many are going to is an indictment on him that he needs to feel

About 1500+ Air New Zealand pilots are union members, not to mention hundreds of Engineer and thousands more flight attendants. Most of whom do not have favourable feelings towards our current PM

This really grinds my gears. For years I've been confused as to why he gets so readily platformed as a serious commentator. Bernard Hickey recently featured him on The Kākā with a link to Edwards article. I've asked for some follow-up on this because this stuff shouldn't be allowed to lie.

Bryce Edwards, another example of an inadequate White man getting a paid public platform to present biased nonsense in New Zealand.

This country is colonial to its core.

Just got sent this from an article by Bryce Edwards. This is completely false, and he never once fact-checked it with me. My campaign was run by me and my small volunteer team. Comments like this reflect a tired mindset that assumes women can’t succeed in politics without a man pulling the strings.

The Anatomy of influence - A Wellington case study
Many of the powerful vested interests behind local politicians are barely acknowledged. For example, how many Wellington voters knew that the current Mayor of Wellington, Tory Whanau, had her successful 2022 campaign essentially run by corporate lobbyist Neale Jones?
Jones co-owns and operates the Capital Government Relations firm with fellow political commentator Ben Thomas. The firm is the epitome of the "revolving door"

Winston Peters strolled around and anti-vax picnic and spoke with people who had chanted and written threats of hanging on gallows of Jacinda Ardern, Dr Ashley Bloomfield and so on, but this was all OK as it was just harmless opportunistic politicking #NZPol

Here's Winston Peters with the head of Sensible Sentencing Trust mingling with the violent & illegal occupiers of NZ's Parliament grounds, refusing to comment to 3News. His 'minders' pushing reporters strongly away.

Always the fucking victim, never the problem.

Belated "Disclosure"

Dennis Wesselbaum article seems to have fiscal holes even larger than the National Party's 2023 election tax plan.

Stagnation is caused by a lack of confidence in the economy by austerity.

Very odd that the authors link to the NZ Initiative was not declared and this lack of transparency was copied to RNZ as it washed it across it's own network.

How curious that this link was not mentioned in the disclosure note at the bottom 🤔

#nzpol While I get the cruelty is the point of Luxon and Upston's welfare policy announcement I still struggle to fathom it. Is this limit of $65k before or after tax? That level of household income isn't even enough to cover basic living costs.
I always knew this government would be bad but...

Can't imagine they'd every draft because *gasp* the budget to pay people would have to increase! Shiny toys sure but paying the plebs, not on National's watch!

I am by no means qualified to predict but I feel like the bubble has metastasised across more than just AI stocks. But even when the bubble bursts there are still fundamentals in even the frothy stocks that make them viable long-term, unless of course, you know the apocalypse...

If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you.

They're trying to sell you a sick goose, while pretending it lays golden eggs.
