Lefty Cat lady living in Yorkshire (and also Baldur's Gate). ADHD Late Diagnosis Club.

Tories, TERFs, GenAI users and suchlike get blocked on sight. And yes, that includes headers and profile pics: get fucked.
If you live around Austin/central Texas, these two are looking for a home, and I would like someone I follow to adopt them so I can carry on seeing videos of Little Big Fat and his adorable noises, please.

I see Sultana is now refusing to leave her bedroom because actually she TOLD grandad she was inviting her own friends too and it's NOT FAIR, he never listens to her!

Meanwhile Grandad is simultaneously telling everyone to be nicer to each other and mumbling about how he never liked that girl.

I was about to start sewing, but Beetle often tends to have Opinions about that. Idk why he always wants to sit on me in this room and nowhere else, but what can you do. Cats.

Popcorn time!

Jenny Watson's recent Substack posts seem to indicate internal strains and stresses in the GC
community.

It's always worth remembering that sooner or later terrible people are terrible to each other.

We have an announcement.

Stick Man has now made it home to the family tree (with his Stick Lady Love and his Stick children three) ❤️
This guy was left in the library yesterday. 🪵

We don't know much about him but he keeps telling us

1) that he's Stick Man

and

2) that he's trying to get back to the family tree

If you left Stick Man behind you can collect him from reception.

That’s a quadruple lock.

There will be pensioners earning more than me & be more liquid.

I’m a husband, single income father of two.
Interesting - the Chancellor tells @martinlewis.moneysavingexpert.com that those receiving only the state pension won’t pay income tax even when the pension passes the (frozen) income tax threshold. So in effect the income tax threshold will newly rise by the triple lock, for some not all pensioners

HIGH QUALITY SCRIPTED COMEDY, imagine that. We used to have so much of it, you know! We really did!
Episode 2 of It Takes A Village is out now!

@davejones.actor joins me to chat about acting, the industry, and engorging - ahem - gorging on comedy shows on the BBC.

This is EXACTLY the sort of shit that was all over Birmingham Uni's open day.

I mean it wasn't top of Trainboy's list but dang did it fall all the way to the bottom real fast after that.

This is BONKERS crazy, what the fuck happened?!
Pointed out by my friend @carloshasanax.bsky.social . There's something weird and unsettling about a fairly homogeneous culture spread out across Europe that then collapses into an orgy of genocide.

By contrast, my elderly neighbour Gordon needed 24/7 care in his 2 bed council flat. His daughter moved in, saved the state ££s in care costs. Gordon died 11 months later. His daughter hadn't been there 12 months, was 'underoccupying' the flat, she was given 14 days to clear his stuff & move out.
Mumsnet is already on the case.

One problem with making complaints these days is Customer Service people have been taught to be so obsequiously grovelling in their responses.

I don't want you to be "truly sorry to have disappointed" me! They're not paying you nearly enough for that!

Unbound, Substack... They're the writer's friends! Supporting the little guys! Smashing the system and offering viable alternatives! Look how much they are helping us with our art! So brave. And definitely *definitely* not cleverly conning writers into being evangelists for them for their own gain.
I'm not going back to Substack. I will continue to post my newsletters from Ghost. But I did have to get back in there, just to post this and let people who thought I'd vanished know about this utter nightmare: substack.com/home/post/p-...
