New here. Used to be a climatologist. Became a priest. Left because they hate queers. Worked for the NHS a bit. Retired. Interests include alcohol and classical music. Swear a lot.

Hiya! 👋
I've decided Charles Dickens isn't the person who invented our modern Xmas, he's just the twat who made it socially unacceptable to hate it.

I don't mind Xmas (I really don't, honestly) but does it have to be so exhaustingly, overwhelmingly *everywhere*?

Today, for no particular reason, I find myself furious at anyone who thinks "classical" music died in about 1911. You're all utter arseholes.

What possible justification can there be for yet again freezing income tax thresholds rather than raising the level of income tax on the rich, let alone for doing this rather than properly taxing wealth, property ownership included? It is straightforwardly wicked.

I cannot see why private jets should in any circumstances be permitted. If people consider themselves too grand to travel otherwise, we have no need of them in this country. There is no excuse for such wanton. environmentally catastrophic selfishness, none whatsoever.
MISSING: Closing tax loopholes for private jets, taxing airplane fuel, a frequent flyer levy.

Why does the Chancellor have such a blind spot for anything that might tackle the excesses of the aviation industry? #Budget

Boris Johnson and his government – including Wormtongue Dominic Cummings – are morally responsible for the slaughter of at least 23,000 people. Britain's most prolific killers.

I came to this country as a child refugee. No English, no certainty, no idea what my life could become. Britain gave me refuge.

Not on a timer, not with conditions attached, but with a chance to grow roots.

If you actually want to stop people seeking asylum, you must end the war, oppression, and terror that have them seek asylum. As principal sponsors of those and other horrors, up to and including genocide, all the while savagely cutting international development, you are doing the very opposite.
