Knitter, crocheter, spinner, sewist, maker. Stats nerd, dice nerd, fibre nerd. Friendly neighbourhood criminologist. Numbers = art.
I have a #KnittingHorrorStory for #ShowMeYourKnits this week, I knit a cropped sweater in a pretty variegated yarn & put it in a lingerie bag & washing machine (!!!!) only to discover my CHEAP-ASS TEMU YARN really was 100% wool. Felted. Gonna be turned into a French press cozy.

I bought my kitten a new set of pompom balls and a "popper" gun, and now she's brought one to me in the bedroom because she wants to play but it's bedtime. Her wee little meow is breaking my heart because she wants to play SO MUCH 😭😭😭

Welcome new followers! Be warned I'm a GenX Canadian so I take a socialist perspective, my country's sovereignty is very important to me, & I insist on both Canadian spelling & the Oxford comma. I'm also a knitter & textiles maker, live-play TTRPG player, container gardener, & I have two cats.

The entire justification of DOGE was that social security was riddled with fraud.

It’s just… not.

It was always bullshit.

DOGE is the waste, fraud and abuse.
The Social Security Administration (per DOGE) instituted anti-fraud checks for benefit claims made over the phone.

Only two out of over 110,000 claims had a high probability of fraud — a rate of .0018%

But it slowed retirement claim processing by 25%.

"Efficiency."

Every victim of homicide and their families deserve a competent investigation by authorities. Families should not have to become their own investigators and go into debt to do someone else's job.

But in the same interview he said he'll still bring it up with PM Carney, and that "it's always on the table," so he can't stick to one story in the same damn answer.

Why do you lock your door at night. Is it because you think I'll come in and debate you. Are you afraid of free speech

People in Canada who live 15 minutes from the border don't feel comfortable going to the US.
In recent weeks, the Trump administration revoked the visa status of more than 1,800 international students at 280 institutions.
Trump Is Driving International Students Away from U.S. Universities. That's a Big Problem.
“I just don't feel safe going to the U.S. right now.”

I love telling people that, "Yes, the CANADIANS are the reason the reason the Geneva Convention exists." #elbowsup
On the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Europe, Trump says it is "unlikely" he will use force to take over Canada.
We hear f--king crickets from Democrats.
They may be willing to leave these matters to a toxic president.
Not Canada.
We come from a long line of fascist fighters.

Incredible. Hacked Signal chats of CBP officials are now floating out there.
Here is a screenshot the hacker provided of their access to TeleMessage's systems. This was a list of Customs and Border Protection officials. I called a bunch of them, confirmed the numbers do belong to CBP officials www.404media.co/the-signal-c...

I thought he said we shouldn't allow unelected party leaders to stay on. But it's okay to ask someone to give up their seat in for him to parachute in and pretend he's going to represent ALL the constituents in that riding? I call bullshit.

The White House claims planes bearing migrants to El Salvador were in international waters off the Yucatán, so that’s why they ignored the court order to turn them around.

International waters, eh? Isn’t that the Gulf of *America* now?

One of Trumps “spiritual advisors” was arrested for raping a child and it’s gotten no attention.
obama was pilloried for months for having attended reverend jeremiah "god damn america" wright's church, meanwhile jd vance can have dms full of in-depth discussions about esoteric nazism and vril, and nobody says a word. don't let anybody tell you that racism isn't real
once again begging a single mainstream outlet to talk in-depth about jd vance's many, many, many, many, many, many groyper friends
