I shake my head at how often some governments approach problems based purely on feels without ever honestly asking "Is this a real or perceived problem" or "Has the problem been studied" or "What has worked in other places" or "What do the experts say" or "What will be the metric of success".
The 'absurdness' is born out of necessity because fascists are biting at the bit for any made up excuse to send in the stormtroopers in jackboots. Beating a guy in an inflatable frog suit as a threat is much harder to spin.
Claudia Tenney describes the No Kings protests as "a bunch of aging hippies, riding nude on bicycles, dressing up in early Halloween, and looking absurd"

Do people actually believe this "George Soros paid all the protestors" shit? Sad. Where do I sign up for this amazing free money? Is it only those with a valid antifa membership card that hasn't expired? Did 7 million people receive cash behind a tree in the park in a brown paper bag?

I feel this. I am the operator of our instant pot. My wife is afraid of it blowing up as well. For how quickly and well it breaks down meats, I'm willing to risk it.
I'm more "christian" than Mike Johnson will ever be and I'm an atheist. The indignant piety routine is beyond laughable considering he's aggressively protecting a pedophile adulterer thief.

The 100 lowest-paying US corporations spent $644B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2024.

Buybacks artificially boost share prices and inflate CEO pay.

The typical worker at these companies earned $35k last year.

Meanwhile, the average CEO was paid $17.2M

See the problem?

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 280-to-1

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.
Narrowed down my Linux distro choice to openSuSE, Fedora or Ubuntu in that order. Time to take the plunge back into that world and see if it's like riding a bike.
"Show and throw", "Hang the wang" "breeze the knees". Whatever gets me out of there the fastest.
Makes sense. They can only ask "Please remove your junk from the dinner table!" so many times before they get fed up.
I get the idea and support the cause but "know your rights" rings a bit hollow when fascists are widely violating people's rights consequence free. In that environment, do you have rights anymore?

We’ve heard a lot of colossally stupid things from the Trump regime lately, but this is among the stupidest things I’ve heard from anyone, anywhere, ever.

There is a GoFundMe for the 19 year old woman, Marvellous Ugochukwu, who was tragically killed after a truck collided with her bus stop this past Sunday on Dewdney and Elphinstone.
