Not saying that "openly talking in-person to a normal woman, occasionally" is the cure for being a right-wing loser, but because they've been pushed into an online echo chamber and out of real life, their views become even more extreme and they don't know how to act in a real encounter.

Unlike in-person interactions, there's basically no consequences (and if there are, they are celebrated) for disgusting, misogynistic expression. And when any pushback to these views are made out to be "liberal", it becomes a contest of who is the most extreme.

Really interesting piece. Playing armchair psychologist, these guys clearly are just looking for an offline/"real" outlet to voice their frustrations. They rarely talk to women, and they can't be open with male friends because that doesn't fit into their vision of masculinity.

I didn't know what a "totenkampf" was before yesterday and I can imagine a person naively getting it tattooed on their chest while drunk cuz they thought it looked cool. But I can't imagine someone of good faith who wouldn't get that shit removed IMMEDIATELY upon learning its meaning.

I'm sure many of you have heard by now that earlier this week, IU k*lled the print edition of its student paper, the IDS. The issue that was supposed to print this week contained criticism of the Whitten regime and IUs further slide into scist control, and they couldn't allow that to happen during Homecoming, when all the rich alumni are in town.
Enter Purdue! The Purdue student paper, The Exponent, owns its own presses. Yesterday, in an act of tremendous solidarity with their biggest rival school, they printed the forbidden issue of the IDS. They then drove it to Bloomington overnight and stocked all of the IDS boxes on campus, just in time for Homecoming.
Solidarity is what makes us stronger, and solidarity will be what ultimately allows us to triumph, if we can ever truly get it together. I hope everyone has a fun, safe day if they're going out today, and I hope we can think about what acts of solidarity we can begin taking to really make this movement MOVE - beyond a permitted expression of upset into more active resistance.
