I don’t think I post links to my own books a lot, but it’s something we writers kinda havta do on occasion. I’m proud of the Perfect Prophet series for its horror, its spotlight on faith and its focus on struggles that make believing in a purpose a challenge.

This feels weird to say but I think the antagonist needs love the most. Whether he's capable of it himself is up for debate, but he does actively seek it out in others, buying affection with lofty (often false) promises and over-the-top gifts, if necessary. He can't exist without admirers. #Lovember

About publishing I have absolutely no clue as of yet but I'm leaning on traditional. Djibouti has no publishing houses, so I'll have to do my research in this giant pond.

I read through some of your writing posts earlier and it sounds very wholesome! The love you experienced during your upbringing is clear to see, if that isn't a creepy thing to say.

Helen knows Rosie means well, she does. But this is not what she wants to hear. Sometimes this community, this obligation to others, feels like a pressure she cannot carry. She remembers this after Ali’s funeral. The wake at the Plough, the singing, the drunken hugs and tears. She remembers how she sat there at a table, wondering how long she had to stay, how long was polite to endure this before she could go home. Just as Rosie says, the community needs an outlet as well, a coming together to grieve. Often, she feels as if the individual comes second to the community, which obviously, philosophically, morally, it does, in her view of the world. But sweet Jesus, she needs alone time as well, needs to focus on her healing too, before she enters the community circle jerk around these things. This unkind attitude makes her think there is a part missing in her, a sensitivity chip, that other people have which allows them to grieve en masse, to lean on each other, to carry the weight of collective pain. That they are nicer than she is, that she is selfish, self-absorbed, unfit in some way. She realises that this is why she loves big cities; she loves the anonymity of them, loves being able to walk down the street without anyone giving a shit who she is. In a city, she feels free. She feels she doesn’t have to be the Helen seen by others; she can be her Helen, whoever and whatever that is at a given moment.

Well, it's not a spoiler, but actually his backstory before the book even begins. His left leg was torn off on the way to find a cure for his daughter's illness. A Ferrland wolf, (a black fanged creature that lives exclusively on a volcanic stretch of land.) attacked him, the outcome broke our MC.

I snorted, still bemused and half-asleep. "Why are you kidnapping me?" I asked. "I thought I was 'just a shifter.'"
"Because Thana expects us to bring you there dead. She won't be expecting you alive. And if she is, she's dreading it,” Sam said, voice half-full of delight.
"Thana has brought me to tears more than once," I said. "She's not afraid of me. I can't touch her; I tried. And what do you mean, she expects you to bring me dead? How do you know that?"
He pressed his finger to his temple. "I just know things."
“It's Sebastian. You have some sort of connection. So he is alive?" I asked hopefully. I didn't know what to expect of Thana, who was the most unpredictable, unhinged being I had ever met.
He didn’t answer that, knowing I was hanging on the very possibility. “You have brought her own people to their knees. The people there bow to you as a goddess. They are loyal to you. It has to be you, unfortunately. Otherwise, I'd probably bring the big boy." He smirked at just the thought of spending time with Abraham, who I had no doubt would not feel the same.
"I'm not going back there," I said. "Why would I go back there if she wants me dead?"
"I'm not giving you a choice. I am being nice enough to allow you to bring Charlie. We might be able to work out the dead thing. Be grateful."
His words made my skin crawl. "Excuse me? You want me to be grateful for being kidnapped?"
“I expect you to be grateful for whatever I give you,” he said with a grin. “You are not shackled. I’m letting you bring Charlie, though I find her endlessly annoying. I am a benevolent king. I just want what I want when I want it.“

Yellow/Orange is the color of my MC's favorite drink, Quinine & lyte.

It's basically a medicinal shot of quinine added to regular lyte drink. The lyte itself is simply soda water with electrolyte powders mixed in, very popular. The quinine is for the MC's phantom limb pain.

All. The. Freaking. Time! My mom jokes that my characters don't just live with us, but live rent free in her head, too. My friend got married there and a few days later the war forced him through the border to my mother's house, he's been migrating within Africa, now he's safe and rebuilding a life. The UAE and others newer players got the hang of using proxies for their interests and influence, the game's changed.
