Hey, we all like fireflies, right? Of course we do! So please: LEAVE YOUR LEAVES! Firefly larvae need the protection that fallen leaves provide to complete their life cycle. Even just allowing part of your yard to be covered with leaves can help the arthropods/invertebrates/microfauna living there.

Brother Herbert at it again with the weird gourds
I'll be 100% honest i simply could not decide if he was going to be holding a big pepper or a big gourd while i was drawing this so it came out something kind of in between but ultimately leaning towards gourd

I still stand ten toes down on this statement even after I got death threats on Twitter about it. Writing off the south continues to birth resentment and a further divide that shouldn’t even be there. They want a division to make it easier to continue regressive bullshit. Stop. Falling. For. It.

Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.
But too many of the slaves died in captivity. And so Columbus, desperate to pay back dividends to those who had in-vested, had to make good his promise to fill the ships with gold. In the province of Cicao on Haiti, where he and his men imagined huge gold fields to exist, they ordered all persons fourteen years or older to collect a certain quantity of gold every three months. When they brought it, they were given copper tokens to hang around their necks. Indians found without a copper token had their hands cut off and bled to death.
The Indians had been given an impossible task. The only gold around was bits of dust garnered from the streams. So they fled, were hunted down with dogs, and were killed. After each six or eight months' work in the mines, which was the time required of each crew to dig enough gold for melting, up to a third of the men died.
While the men were sent many miles away to the mines, the wives remained to work the soil, forced into the excruciating job of digging and making thousands of hills for cassava plants.
Thus husbands and wives were together only once every eight or ten months and when they met they were so exhausted and depressed on both sides... they ceased to pro-create. As for the newly born, they died early because their mothers, overworked and fam-ished, had no milk to nurse them, and for this reason, while I was in Cuba, 7000 children died in three months. Some mothers even drowned their babies from sheer desper-ation.... In this way, husbands died in the mines, wives died at work, and children died from lack of milk ... and in a short time this land which was so great, so powerful and fer-tile... was depopulated... My eyes have seen these acts so foreign to human nature, and now I tremble as I write....

Ive had a few packages take scenic routes & go awol with USPS, I get the frustration. But every time it happens, I call up, discuss the issue, & within a few days, the package is found & on its way as intended.

UPS though? Refused to deliver to my address & on second try, said my home existed. 🔥🤷🔥

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have developed a cancer vaccine that has shown STUNNING results, PREVENTING up to 88% of MULTIPLE aggressive cancers by harnessing dual-pathway nanoparticles that train the immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells. In some cases, it COMPLETELY prevented metastasis.

Will do, and thank yall for your hard work! You got this 💪

And this is why we refuse to use private shipping companies when sending stuff in the mail. Not only are their prices easily double than USPS, regulations are more lenient for them to mess with your packages, and just wholly less reliable at actually delivering orders.

Like, what the actual fuck.

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages
Business Insider headline reads: UPS is telling customers that their packages coming to the US are marked for destruction.

With the holidays upon us, don't give to Salvation Army. Not even change. It's a scumbag "charity" run by anti-gay zealots.

Habitat for Humanity is great. Your local Food Bank is great.

So many "charities" are for-profit scams. Use Charity Navigator to vet them. www.charitynavigator.org

Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.

Ive gotten a number of excellent home furnishings and parts from HfH ReStores before when doing repairs & renovations in the past. The stuff available is leftovers from new builds & good-to-excellent salvage from other home reno's. Furniture, doors, lamp fixtures, handles, etc. Highly recommend.

Louisiana, please explain to me what this job term "drigger" means? Nothing comes up online for a definition and I can't see the word numerous times without thinking it's some sort of passive aggressive slur.
