There are 3 doors but he only reveals 1 after you choose. If there were 4 doors and he revealed 2 leaving the last of 3 unpicked doors, the realization to switch becomes evident.

Here the reality is hidden by multiple doors. But when there's one door in your house the reality becomes clear.

Yeah, idk. I'd compare it to a CD or record. Old records are valuable now, but they are meant to be consumed over time. The nature of the needle dragging is inherently destructive in its observation of the grooves in the vinyl.
