All of those shorthands and tests ruin people's media literacy. There is an episode of Seinfeld where all women only bicker about shoes. It passes the Bechdel test, and is quite sexist... as long as you don't consider the meta commentary about men writing women.

Reading House of Leaves *after* consuming a bunchlof media very obviously inspired by it up so fucking cool. I tend to not enjoy fundamental works of genres im super into, since im usually at a point where I want to see the defining tropes challenged and played with, and not established / reinforced

i think it's good actually that a videogame prominently featuring AI voice acting is finding success while my VA friends haven't found steady work in years and have their rates forcibly ground into dust over the few reliable gigs left

joke's on you, I do both of these at the same time, and while it's twice as much effort I can confirm that it barely works at all
See, the trick is that "the GM exists for the players' amusement, whose job is to ruin their plans for fun" and "the GM rules like a king, and the players exist to be their playthings" is that these SEEM like opposite maladaptive approaches to play, but they both result in the GM doing all the work.
