I don’t think the internet should be banned for anyone. That would be wrong. I think the internet should be blown up, with a bomb

the thing about tech guys is that 60% of the time they seem to be talking about something, they’re actually talking about computers. that’s why they like computer cars and computer plants and computer friends
jpco.io
tech guys love hydroponics because they hate doing things and learning about the world and hydroponics offers them an apparent opportunity to turn plants into computers

a lot of people are finally waking up to the importance of the 3rd amendment. As a 3A absolutist, i think it should be illegal for soldiers to be quartered anywhere in this country. they should be camping under the open sky at all times. all military bases and barracks are unconstitutional.

I don’t know why you’d want to home bake a baguette any more than you’d want to do that with wonder bread. it’s an industrial bread!

a big thing i learned about myself during covid is that i just want to buy a goddamned baguette from the store or the bakery, i literally never want to make the damned thing myself

pan fried it lightly and put it in vegetable-tofu fried rice! my wife is a Mushroom Disliker so it got added in the bowl, which is probably good since I think I have a bad habit of overcooking the flavor out of mushrooms and I managed to avoid that this time

Portland’s City Council is cool these days
councilorgreen.bsky.social
I don’t want to hear anymore “Portland is dying” narrative or vague complaints about “ANTIFA” as the clarion call for action in the city. All of that led to Trump targeting us. Groups like People for Portland, associated right-wing media ecosystem, and political opportunists own this.

Went through airport security no problem today and was reminded that gov't shutdowns have been engineered to ensure ordinary activities are not disrupted so that we all don't get pissed off and demand better.

I’m not saying that maximizing the number of people on the street in Seattle is an active goal of the city’s government,

but

NEW: After paying for hotel rooms to shelter homeless people, Seattle deliberately left them vacant.

By the end of 2024, taxpayers were spending $4,200 a month per empty room at a time when thousands of residents were without a roof over their heads.
Seattle Spent Millions on Hotel Rooms to Shelter Unhoused People. Then It Stopped Filling Them.
Early last year, the city signed a $2.7 million lease extension to continue using a hotel’s rooms as shelter space. Yet despite committing to pay the rent, the city stopped sending people there.
