I listen to a lot of podcasts and while I generally find the hosts to be good people I constantly get snagged on the anti-boomer and anti-genx quips that are baked into the medium for a lot of popular ones. They are very often snyde remarks about not getting specific basic tech, or niche memes. 1/

It's emblematic of how stifled and ineffectual the current mainstream left is that both one of its biggest philosophy guys and it main organizations are still relying on the ANSWER Coalition, those tankie/campists who popped up during the 1991 Gulf War, to put on their rallies and actions.

A 4 part thread shows how YIMBYs who believe they are progressives sometimes support weird reactionary politics. I think a lot of it is not knowing about the history or politics of a place, but also a lack of intersectional class solidarity. Single issue liberals have pretty big blind spots.

I'm sorry, but the poster who mentioned water did not even attempt to downplay other harms of AI. This happened entirely in Rev Howard Arson's high profile influencer head. And Arson's language is so unclear, as are the replies, I have to think it's a circle jerk.
