Class struggle guy. Infantile Communist. Product of non-Ivy League public schools.

I live on Oahu.
I don't hate Maddow as much as many of you and still watch her show for liberal anti-MAGA criticism. But this image really brings out how scared MSNOW anchors are of her. She's their boss. Look at them giving the "we're all doing great for the company and love our jobs!" look. Palpable fear.

Just saw a video of Madea Benjamin (Code Pink) say the Margorie Taylor Green's resignation is a disaster for the anti-war movement. I dont usually talk like this buts thats so fucking dumb. Its rly beyond words how low their standards are, how shitty their politics, how shallow their vision.

RFK Jr.: disturbed know-nothing failing his way to success and leaving a wake of betrayal and death. His utterly opportunistic pursuit of hero status, with no concern as to the content of his quest, now as HHS secretary poised to become one of history's greatest mass murderers. Worth your time.

Horror reality tv: Four MAGA spokespeople fawn over "Commander Bovino's" aw shucks Howdy Doody Gestapo stories. Their child like laughter reminiscent of 4th graders' question & answer time with a local police dad. "Thank you, Commander. The American people love what you're doing and how you do it!"

Oakland Socialist on how Republicans, Mainstream Democrats, Union leaders, and the business class will oppose any attempts by Mamdani to carry out socialist style reforms. He considers the challenges in continuing to build a movement that can make demands, get them enacted, and defend them.
Trump-Mamdani press conference: “Making love – not war”?
Did the Trump Mamdani press conference “make love- not war” as Politico described it , or was it two opponents feeling each other out, seeking an opening or advantage while trying not to expose vul…

"It’s ‘simply’ the ‘law’ of supply and demand. On virtually all issues, the opposite is the case – the market serves the rich 1% and hurts the rest of us, unless it’s impact is mitigated by progressive social and economic policies. That’s the real common sense."

Check this out: Letters sometimes disappear and reappear in my bluesky posts. See the word "think" in both screenshots below. Same thing happens in Safari, Opera, Chrome. Also, in Safari, the prompt goes to the start of the line unless you type slow when you start and posts become jumbled. Weird.

J.D. Vance could be the offramp of Trump's MAGA and win in 2028. He's a smooth liar, and repeats big lies like Trump, w/ fash populism serving White Christian Nationalism, maximizing cis white male dominance and harming brown people +women. Not as funny as Trump but he fakes affability sufficiently.

Pluribus episode 4 was great. I remember watching Better Call Saul and finding it a bit boring until I got used to the meticulous nature of a lot of the episodes and the claustrophobic use of office, business, and retail space. I think the new show needs the same patience to see what it becomes.

Jacobin's red-brown big guns, Fazi and Marcetic, celebrate a possible "peace deal" by blaming Ukraine for Putin's brutal invasion with the old lie "they didn't implement Minsk," and charging anyone supporting Ukraine's resistance w/ hypocrisy unless they report for duty on the front line.

Seth Ackerman's article on YIMBY economics explains that more supply doesn't inherently drive down housing costs. Real estate is a monopolistic and speculative commodity based on expected values. The main cost driver is median income of people in the area. See the chart and explanation in article.
The Problem With YIMBY Economics
YIMBYs are right that the US needs a major expansion of its housing supply. Unfortunately, eliminating restrictions on private housing development won’t do much to get us there.
