Hey i'll do this since it's basically the same thread i had back on the other site

The media is about to blitz us with stories about how awful Maduro is and I want you to remember that even if they're all true, they are being issued solely for the purpose of manufacturing consent for invading Venezuela and killing innocent people.
Hi morning crew, started updating this thread again! The album quoted here is one you really need to check out if you like any of the other stuff i posted - it's criminally overlooked among the noise-rock crowd!
Chrome - 3rd from the Sun

And here's the closest sonic precursor to Filth! Less industrial/grimy and a lot more spacey, which makes for a unique atmosphere in this genre. Up there with Half Machine Lip Moves as this band's finest hour.

Highlights: Firebomb, Armageddon, Heart Beat
Life, Sex & Death - The Silent Majority

A hair metal band tries to adapt to the 90s w/ a frontman whose story was pure pro wrestling (and whom you could smell a mile away). How that genre could've evolved...

Highlights: Jawohl Asshole, Fuckin' Shit Ass, School's for Fools, Telephone Call
Faith No More - Angel Dust

My fav rock album of the 90s, not one skip here besides the closing cover. Just all over the place genre-wise while keeping a coherent feel to it all, still doesn't sound like its many imitators!

Highlights: Be Aggressive, Land of Sunshine, Malpractice, Jizzlobber
Chu Ishikawa - Tetsuo: The Iron Man OST

Yes, one of the GOAT industrial albums was created to soundtrack possibly my favorite movie of all time! If there's another track in this genre as menacing & *heavy* as Tetsuo Dance, i don't know it.

Highlights: Tetsuo Dance, Megatron, Drop Hammer

Swans - Filth

The most obvious sonic precursor to Big Black, and the only Swans record i truly love thus far (at Soundtracks for the Blind atm). Maybe the album that most leaves me feeling like i need a shower afterward!

Highlights: Stay Here, Power for Power, Big Strong Boss, Weakling
AHEM they're actually called "urinal mints", people forgetting about Beavis smh
but it *is* possible to find those people if you figure out the right situations to put yourself out there, and it's not healthy to approach ALL social interaction as inherently Not For Me before you even try

i'm starting to feel this a bit myself w/ my new project tbh...
last repost: this reminds me of one particular autistic vtuber who had a rant along similar lines a while back, i.e. introversion/extroversion being pseudoscience

her argument was that it's just way harder for ASD folks to find the kind of social connections that aren't horribly draining

Every time I see a social media meme about being an introvert, which is at least once a week, I think about how the modern conception of introversion was popularized by a book by a woman who worked on Wall Street who felt that she was so different and special compared to her coked up male colleagues
This squares with what i've seen in powerlifting as well, as someone training to compete someday

(Though tbf steroid use is rampant in that world and trans women are less likely to do that for fairly obvious reasons)
This is a "common sense" argument, not a science-based argument

Turns out humans are pretty bad at "common sense" with the world we inhabit now, so i don't put much stock in that kind of thinking
Blame the American tradition of competitive parenting, basically - a LOT of investment in youth sports is rooted in the dream of your kids becoming professional athletes, and that mindset is going to make you see trans women as stealing your opportunities
as a kid i was hype AF for it for some reason (i think Gamepro gave it a weirdly strong review?) but never got to play any of em

Rocky Rodent is my go-to for an underrated animal mascot platformer btw
this reminds me of brianna wu including armenia but NOT azerbaijan in her list of "ethnostates" meant to defend israel

that country's apparently been buying off some of our influencers? makes more sense now if their motivation is related to this
thorne melcher is still on this website so i'm sure someone's got that covered
These ridiculous challenge runs have become a huge part of the retrogaming Youtube meta over the past couple years, especially with regard to RPGs

Kind of the evolution of speedrunning, after so many people decided GDQ & Summoning Salt were all they needed from that world
an underrated element of this discourse is gen xers venting about how much research people can do nowadays and how "nobody on earth will get elected with the Dems if this is the standard we apply now"

like complaining they can't take the frank dux approach to life anymore

hihi, reminder that if you're looking to help during the coming republican made SNAP crisis your dollar goes waaay further with a food bank than it ever could with canned goods.

their buying power is significantly higher than yours and they are much more in tune with the needs of their clientele
this is so clearly Fetterman all over again, between the shitty history and the working-class cosplay act

hoping folks don't fall for it a second time!
lmao, all the actual research suggests the US military is mainly comprised of the middle to upper classes these days. it's just that there's also a visible poorer POC element to it, so that gets used to drown out this part of the story
because a chunk of american "progressives" are just strasserites who don't know who strasser was
