Greetings. Currently telling everyone the wonderful story of the wacky fun of being in the Donner Party. Sometimes I throw in disaster and weather stories. Sometimes I stop being polite and start getting real. Also part of a 90s sci-fi podcast crew with dozens of fans. Dozens!

Yeah, and it will be years before we can say with certainty what happened.

Whatever happened was bad. The engine was on fire, and hit a long swath of buildings when it lost altitude.

It is... much more than a hull loss. Multiple buildings are on fire. Still burning badly. That plane was fully loaded with full.

This is going to be very bad.

It sounds like there's been a hull loss out of Louisville. A UPS MD-11. Crash on takeoff. Lots of fire and smoke.

Tyrol notices the structural damage in the jump gate structure.

Gauis lets Gaeta have a chat with him and a cigarette, so that Gaeta can make peace with his fuckboy and leg.

And then him and Zarek are shot dead by firing squad.

Next week the return of Lushy Lerou: Cylon edition.

With no jumps and an inevitable death by either Adama or Laura, Gaeta finally realizes how he went against his own principles over a fuckboy and a leg and decides to end it and surrender even though Zarek wants to make it bloodier.

The coup is over. Laura returns to Bill.

Adama and company head to CIC, who are dealing with a very angry Laura aboard a Cylon basestar. They decide to bail with all the fleet still on their side, but Tyrol finally John McClanes his way to the jump engine and pulls so hard on the engine he gets his hand bloody. But it works.

Oh and he rescues Kara and Sam. Kara, the badass who died and was reborn. Michael Angeli wrote this. I am surprised Laura was a big dog.

Anyway Adama is also rescued when Kelly heel face turns, not shooting a loose in the air vents Tyrol and telling Lee and Saul how to rescue Adama.

Unfortunately Sam gets a neck or head shot, and its really bad, and Kara whimpers trying to get him to Cottle while Lee and the rest go to save Adama.

Who is of course found guilty and sentenced to death. And so is Romo, but his pen earns him freedom by stabbing his guard.

Lee, who for some reason is the badass this week, and Kara, who for some reason is whimpering and complaining, rescue everyone in the brig.

Not sure what the role reversal is about. Oh, Michael Angeli wrote this one. That explains Gauis getting laid so easily again.

Poor Romo knows he and Bill are dead meat. But he plays along while Bill gives everyone the finger.

That part about killing congress? Not a joke. Zarek has the whole quorem killed in front of a newly released from the brig Aaron Kelly, who isn't too pleased being in this coup by default.

He feels bad about bailing on his cult and has nightmares about Bill getting killed.

Speaking of the Big Dog, Bill basically tells Gaeta that Laura is his problem now, and basically gives the finger to the kangaroo court Gaets and Zarek give him while Romo Lampkin watches.

Eventually she convinces Leoben to help her break through the Galactica's radio jammer but not before Tory basically says fuck my final five brothers, we are leaving.

Fortunately this does not happen. Laura big dogs again.

Oh and Gauis is a fuckboy to a random Six again. Horny show.

But first we have Saul and Bill in custody. Saul is sent to the brig, and Bill to CIC. Laura escapes from Narcho by appealing to good boy Hot Dog. Her and Gauis make it to the Cylon Baseship.

And the Cylons are pissed, but Laura big dogs them into using the fleet for cover.

39,603 survivors, so like 40 died in the Gaeta/Zarek coup.

Which you have a rules lawyer who is basically mad his fuckboy turned out to be a POS and he lost a leg to a cylon, and then a former terrorist turned politician just waiting to murder all of congress.

Saw an article about someone "redefining what it means to be a pop-star." And just all the comments from people being like "who?" "never heard of her?" and it's just folks, we're in our 40s, just accept we won't know a lot of these people and that doesn't mean "music is dead." We're just old...

Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.

He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

The oxen will be buried, which will make finding them for food difficult to impossible.

Everyone is cold and wet. Wet pine branches make more smoke than heat.

Miles behind at Alder Creek the Donners have similar experiences.

They all hope someone from Fort Sutter will come for them.

Stanton with Luis and Salvador turn back, unable to return the mules to Sutter. They cannot find a way through the snow.

All three men will die in the next months.

Today the snow is relatively light. Tomorrow the snow picks up, abd continues for several days.

Everyone is hunkering down. Three cabins near Truckee Lake: one for the Breens, one for the Graves, Reeds, and Eddys, and one for the Murphys.

Keseberg "builds" a lean-to against the Breen cabin for his family's shelter.

The rain has been turning to snow around them.

Franklin Graves is concerned about caching his wagon. There are silver coins in it her wants to protect.

The Graves family is busy slaughtering oxen and cattle to store in snow banks for what will be a winter stay. Like the Breens, they use hides as a roof patch.

I think in this case the chicken came before the egg, as I have been watching this movie as long as I have been alive, including when my parents should definitely have not allowed me to watch this movie for like 12 years.
