In the spirit of this place and positivity, I am going to start a post that includes some random Petco Park scoreboard fun facts from over the years.

Not everyone will like them, but even if just one person gets a laugh out of it or brightens their mood, well, that’s sort of the point. Enjoy.
Excuse me but where are Vicki's dad (Three's Company) and Freida Claxton (Golden Girls)
Saw this gem on Opening Night last night at the San Diego Civic Theater. Just as fun as when I saw it in NYC. Highly recommend!
The Arizona game was almost lost due to a punt being fielded inside the five. That should have been the last time, but the issue reared its ugly head again twice in Tampa. Any indication that this is being addressed?
Getting the ball at the 8-12 yard line every time instead of the 20 is bad math
Niners’ fetish of fielding punts inside their own 5 isn’t helping, either

The sheer joy of sports BlueSky right now is making me smile. This is what social media is supposed to be.
We were robbed of walk-off catcher’s interference or a pitch clock violation
If there were a Time of Possession-like counter for these teams’ at-bats, Mariners would be crushing it and Tigers dragging
Cue the Sleepless in Seattle jokes

Just wildly wonderful playoff baseball. Excruciating in the best way.
Random thought: thinking about Seattle scoreboard crew & camera ops (not broadcast ops) who bleed as much for their team as fans do, & how, in a potential clinching walk-off, they have to execute camera shots/stay in focus, graphics ops, other button pushers, DJ, etc... all while wanting to explode
Yeah of COURSE the dodgers would win that way
Surely someone in the NFL has been to a dance festival in, say, the month of June 😝

Cal Raleigh and Babe Ruth are the only players in MLB history to hit *exactly* 60 home runs in a season. Both hit HR 6️⃣1️⃣ in the Postseason on October 7, in their final AB of a win in which their team scored 8 runs:

Ruth 10/7/1927
Cal 10/7/2025

Manny Machado has played in 8 postseason series with the Padres. He has now homered in 7 of them.

The only one he missed was the two-game Wild Card sweep of Atlanta in 2024.

Mason Miller's 102.9 mph strikeout is the 6th-fastest postseason strikeout of the pitch-tracking era (2008)

It’s the fastest by any pitcher other than Aroldis Chapman
That field has claimed so many players. Can 49ers petition to play NY Giants somewhere in Europe instead? CC: @timkawakami.bsky.social
I was loving the first part of the skeet. Read nothing into anything else but that.
Big congrats to Mud on 30 seasons broadcasting with the Padres
There have now been 39 home runs hit into the third deck of the WMSB since Petco Park opened in 2004.

This is the first time two players have homered there in the same game.

The Cubs are such an interesting team right now. They've *massively* improved their bullpen, in-season. It's now a strength. But without Horton, and Imanaga giving up a ton of homers, and Boyd taking a 2nd half step back .. that's a problematic rotation.
