The Toronto BBWAA has named Ernie Clement the 2025 John Cerutti Award recipient "for displaying goodwill, cooperation, and character"

The Clement that Canadian baseball fans love is the same person we deal with professionally, always respectful and generous with media. #BlueJays

I asked Gradey Dick about the internet's favourite running bit: his post-game flexes. "I didn't really think it was too big a deal. But it is funny. It's nice when the fans respect my personality and I get to show it off the court. I'm glad I'm making people happy."

The Blue Jays have been active this off-season with Shane Bieber exercising his player option to stay with the team and Toronto signing free-agent pitchers Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce. I spoke with veteran designated hitter George Springer about the Jays' reloaded rotation www.tsn.ca/mlb/article/....
Springer excited to welcome returning Bieber, new pitchers Cease and Ponce to Jays
A reloaded Toronto Blue Jays starting rotation has George Springer excited, not necessarily to take another run at the World Series, but to welcome the pitchers the clubhouse.

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Really happy for Manoah, one of the nicest Blue Jays I've covered. It's an unwritten rule that you never speak to a pitcher the day of his start (not just Scherzer). I accidentally broke it a couple of years ago w/ Manoah and he didn't bat an eye, happily answered all my questions before I realized
@JeffPassan tweeted
Right-hander Alek Manoah and the Los Angeles Angels are in agreement on a one-year, $1.95 million contract, a source tells ESPN. Manoah, 27, was non-tendered by Atlanta and lands with the Angels on a fully guaranteed big league deal.

At a certain point, and it might be soon, we will all have to play quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. At least for a little while. An assistant coach will knock on your door and you’ll just have to get in the van.

Like most Americans, the Spurs' Lindy Waters III sees Thanksgiving as a time for food, family and fellowship.

As a Native American, Waters' views on the holiday are ... complicated.

Spoke with Waters about the proud heritage he literally wears on his sleeve:

Brandon Ingram dropped a season-high 37 points last night in a gutsy Raptors win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. But even then, it's Toronto's culture that Ingram says he's enjoying the most, particularly Darko Rajakovic's approach to coaching www.thestar.com/sports/rapto...

Not a unique take, but: Sports gambling has broken our brains. It's the least interesting lens through which to analyze sports, putting so much focus on the "what will happen/is happening" over "why will it happen/is it happening." It makes our conversations worse and less curious.
