With all the insanity around flying and because i'm a massive train nerd, I learned last week that there is indeed a sleeper train from NYC to ATL and I immediately decided to take the flight refund and take the train instead. So here I am at hour 1 of an 18 hour journey down south.

when did github's real-time updates on PRs break? It used to be that when i was looking at a PR and someone approved or commented i would see it without needing to reload the page. Same thing with test failures, I needed to reload the page to see if the tests succeeded.

The frustrating thing about this energy, especially in Boston, is that it results in worse pedestrian AND cyclist outcomes. Living in the south end, residents fought against the street improvements which added bike lanes, removed car lanes and extended sidewalks!
in Boston it's true of both cars and bikers.
and as a pedestrian I don't want to get hit by either, but so far that score is 4 to bikes and only 2 to cars. bikers here love running into my leashed dogs on the sidewalks.
I love when people call cyclists "hysterical" or "easily offended" as if they've never seen a driver absolutely lose their shit when they're behind a car going the speed limit or when a pedestrian crosses the street. Drivers are perpetually whiny babies. Cyclists just don't want to get killed.

Bike infra in Boston is getting pretty amazing! Just rode from deep Cambridge (fresh pond) to Coolidge corner in under 30 mins on ~80% separated bike lanes! Made especially nice by the open streets closure on the Cambridge side of the Charles. Trip cost $3 on a blue bike vs a $2.90 train (1hr)

Thinking recently about how the internet became real life in the food world before anything else. So many early blogs were for recipes and restaurants, then SEO became make or break.

This 100% would get me back into playing games. I miss like small games that I can just play casually for a few hours. I do not like that it feels my only options today are 90+ hour games or attention sucking mini games.
Obviously a Humble Bundle-type solution with your sub comes to mind, but there are even weirder ways to do it. Maybe it is a printed pub with QR codes to free downloads. Maybe it’s (*gasp*) a thumb drive filled with indie games and demos shipped each month. That fills a nostalgia quotient, too.

word to the wise, if your tailwind is fighting you for dynamic classnames in react, use the safelist in the config and save four hours of frustration

safelist: [
{ pattern: /col-start-\d+/ },
{ pattern: /col-end-\d+/ },
{ pattern: /row-start-\d+/ },
{ pattern: /row-end-\d+/ },
