PROTEST SONGS #249: Anti-Trump

I started the Protest Song Project because I didn't know why I wasn't hearing anti-Trump protest songs. Turns out there are *scads* of them, but unlike the '60s-'80s, they aren't by mainstream artists, and they aren't getting airplay.

Polls are views of a selected sample of NZ population, not including people who are homeless or living overseas but eligible to vote in NZ elections. Others who are pissed with Govt may say No to survey.

NZ Govt kicked prisoners off voting roll. Others may be excluded if they don't enrol in time.

#nzpol Scientists monitoring our faultlines statistically predict that we have two separate overdue 8+MAG earthquakes. They'll hit within the next 50 yrs. Tsunamis are likely to result. Our hospitals, health sector, councils, govt, and emergency services are not ready or equipped to cope. Landlords🙄
NZ Govt biggest health cuts are from the emergency management team, going from 11 roles to just two, and from Mãori Public Health, which could drop from six staff ..to two. Another attack on Mãori

THE FEAST OF ST NICHOLAS: December 6th
My name, Santa Claus, is derived from the Dutch expression for Saint Nicholas: Sinterklaas, Protector of Children.
I’m a bishop & monk, as St Nicholas was many centuries ago, & an advocate for vulnerable children.
Wishing you a blessed Feast of St Nicholas Day!

We have enough money to feed, house and provide education & healthcare to all.

We don’t do it because the 1% oppose it.

The billionaire class benefits from keeping the rest of us in poverty.

They hoard the wealth and blame immigrants & marginalized people for economic hardship.

Tax the rich.

“In the new year, we’ll be launching our guide for GPs to help with the diagnosis, management, and treatment of Long Covid.”

This is good, it’s badly needed in NZ.

IMO this piece could’ve been stronger in its recs for prevention & more inclusive of other LC conditions, but I’m happy to see it.
Comment from Victoria University: The easiest way to prevent others contracting Long Covid is to stay home when sick, and for govt to increase paid leave

The Alberta government has now used the Notwithstanding Clause to attack trans people four times in less than a couple months and once more to attack the teacher's union.

Frankly, the Smith government should be considered a rogue government because it actually does not care about the law at all.

Reminder that there exists an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet filmed with untrained stray cats in Rome, dubbed over by British Shakespearean actors.

It's called 'Romeo.Juliet' and has never been given a VHS/ DVD or Bluray release. BUT THERE IS A COPY ON THE INTERNET ARCHIVE.
