This morning I spotted a tiny bird on the grill of the drain leading to our street stormwater. I was walking my dog so quickly tied her up and grabbed some leaves, lifted the fledgling from the drain to the grassy verge.
A pair of Tauhoe (waxeyes) quickly joined it, leaping and chirping.
