I love the way the light plays through these fresh new leaves. Taken on my phone on one of my morning walks recently.
Copper birch tree branches and leaves with snippets of sky visible behind. Branches twist and turn as they taper towards their tips (how's that for alliteration!)

They coaxed the tiny thing across the path and about an hour later, on my way home from our walk, I saw some Tauhoe in the bushes just along from the drain, about a metre off the ground.
I'm hopeful that the parents were helping their fledgling up to safety 🙌

Trying on ski gear I have only worn a few times since this Season pass was used, I was pregnant with my now nearly 19 year old. Now, I am getting ready for my dream trip to Canada next year. Reckon I will win any retro gear award they have on 😎

Not sure which amaryllis this is, definitely know it's been neglected and the weeds around it are still waiting for attention.

My dog knew it was Saturday somehow, I said to her 'there's no way you can tell the time!' - then she sneezed-snorted and sprayed my legs with goobers as I left the room to get dressed for walkies.

Kevin is about 9-10 years old, here he is on the mural and on the cleaning trolley. Kevin is a tabby cat with white paws and a white chin and chest. He has two different coloured eyes and he is adored in our school community 🤩

There is a tiny kingfisher in the branches of a bare maple tree in the right edge of this photo. In the foreground is a round backed cane chair and a variety of pot plants on a second story deck. In the background is the ocean, sky and clouds. The kingfisher was easier to see with my eyes than in the photo sorry!! The feathers on its back are a delightful turquoise, it has a creamy belly and a formidable beak which helps it be a very accurate catcher of bugs and crabs.

Aww, such a lovely boy.
This is Kevin. Kevin is about 10 years old and he lives at school. About 4 years ago, Swiftmantis painted this amazing mural of Kevin on our then new senior bathroom block. Kevin is a tabby cat with long ivory white whiskers. His left eye is green and his right eye is brown with speckles. Kevin has white tips on his paws and a white chin. He often comes to hang out in my classroom while waiting for students to arrive before school. One of my jobs is to unlock the bathroom block and when he chose to follow me, I seized the opportunity to take this photo.

Blue sky with no clouds in sight, the Manawatū Awa is finally lowering after weeks running high from all the rain. The colour of the sky is reflecting on the water. Trees and other vegetation are bright green. There are rocks in the foreground which were put here to try and keep the river away from the city of Palmy.
