Get familiar with the “color revolution” meme because the people IN POWER are trying as hard as they possibly can to make it a thing, and they have been for years now. Their base is bought in. The background on this deep lore from a Substack post I wrote in May…

Fearless speech/truth-telling:

Duty: They believe they have an obligation to speak the truth.
Frankness: They speak freely and directly.
Truthfulness: They speak all that they know.
Criticism: They speak truth to those in positions of power.
Danger: They tell the truth despite the consequences.
Mark Kelly: “Pete Hegseth is not a serious person. He’s unqualified for this job. I think he is the least qualified Secretary of Defense in the history of our country by far. & this President thinks he can bully & intimidate people? He’s not gonna stop me from speaking out & holding him accountable”

There's another dimension to this Rosa Parks story that you may not know. This is where the story most often gets mis-narrated.

The bus driver is often left out as a faceless entity and passive part of the story, but he is important to this story.

Hard to imagine that the Pentagon spokesman uses the word “kinetic” because it’s a term of art (which it is), but, rather because he and SecDef thinks the world sounds real cool.
Last week: In response to WaPo’s story on the Sept. 2 boat strikes, the Pentagon says “This entire narrative is completely false.”

Today: The White House confirms that a 2nd strike happened and that “Secretary Hegseth authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct these kinetic strikes”

There's a lot going on, and immigration law is notoriously labyrinthine. But it's still wild both that (1) the Trump administration is trying to treat millions of non-citizens who have lived here for years/decades as "arriving aliens"; & (2) *hundreds* of courts have (almost unanimously!) said "no":
195. The Immigration Detention Flood
The Trump administration's attempt to quietly—but massively—expand who can be detained pending their removal has been met with overwhelming pushback from a remarkably large number of district courts.

The Trump administration has been pursuing third country removals for noncitizens in the United States since coming into office, sending migrants to unknown countries. @mboaz.bsky.social explores how these removals likely violate due process for these individuals.
Due Process in Third Country Removals
The administration’s use of ad hoc procedures to send migrants to countries with which they have no connection likely violates due process.

I agree with your concern, @securitas.bsky.social, that civilian leaders are attempting to pervert good order and discipline to foster personal loyalty/complicity. As I think this through I agree with Josh Braver, but @queenofthinair.bsky.social's concept of the unprincipled principal is unresolved.
Do you have a take on that, @kschake.bsky.social?

Look at this image (and thread - use the translate service).

This one reads along the lines of:

"..Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) without cleaning.

In just 15 minutes of acquisition, we counted 1,659 satellite trails (about 400 individual ones).

Words cannot describe the pollution of near space."

One thing to note about Bove’s response re: whistleblower report is that he didn’t explicitly deny making the “fuck you” comment.

Would be interesting to see his response if a senator directly asks him if he denies saying that

Part of why Trump won in 2016 was he was an "outsider" who promised to "end corruption." He did not end corruption, he is a big "to the victor belongs the spoils of the enemy" guy. He's a spoiled and corrupt person, who has spoiled and corrupted his party and government. That story sells itself.
The president is a political cartoon of corruption come to life, a gaudy grifter who is selling off pardons and lining his pockets, building a golden ballroom and protecting his fellow sex predator elites, all the while regular Americans are suffering and struggling to make ends meet.

Run on *that*

"Surely a quick, violent, successful war of aggression is just what the ruler needs to shore up his legitimacy," said just about every failed monarch in history shortly before invading Serbia.
Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

It’s finished.

It’s also not finished because, in the words of Paul Valéry, a piece of writing is never finished. Ultimately it is abandoned. That’s because writing is thinking, and we’re never finished with that.

Anyway, I figured out what to do with that long blog post . . .

Thing is, we DID hear about it at his confirmation hearing.

Every single senator who voted to confirm Hegseth knew he held these views about the laws of war.

They voted to confirm him anyway.
Everyone should read this terrifying thread about Hegseth’s published views wrt war crimes. It’s pretty fucking radical …. We needed to hear about this in his confirmation hearing.
A chapter in Hegseth’s book is literally titled “More Lethality, Less Lawyers.”

It’s almost as if there were signs!

The president is about to start a war for no real reason. All of the things he has blamed on the country he’s targeting — fentanyl distribution, “emptying the asylums” and sending patients to the U.S., alignment with Tren de Aragua— are provably, obviously false.

Lots of people are going to die.
