I have his posters of both the Northern and Southern skies, and the Aztec cosmos. Loved them as a child. Sad that he’s no longer with us!
OK yes I now wanna be able to hang up my phone by shouting "END OF LINE!" This is not a big ask. Make it happen Tim Cook and Disney. 😅 #tron #tronares
The absorption of eOne (first into Hasbro, then into Lionsgate) is truly an odd story. I directed a feature film for their North American arm 15 yrs ago, but there's no one left at Lionsgate from back then. (The movie's home rights were eventually bought out by IndiePix.) Interesting rise—and fall.
The BOULDER HILL™ PLAYSET was one of my favorite Christmas presents Santa Claus ever left me. :)
Somehow I figured out how to program our family's Apple IIc to reproduce Matt Trakker's "select agents best suited for this mission" program—w/ graphics of the characters and screen-accurate music—depending on the values you typed in. I have no idea how I accomplished this at 11 years old… but I did
I've been in a bizarre situation for the past several days in which no one — and I mean almost NO ONE — is responding to business emails or DMs (some of which are time-critical). Is there some weird internet outage I'm not aware of? 🤔
Exactly. BMI is worse than useless if you do ANY strength training. I'm 51 y/o, 5'10", 180 lbs, 17% body fat and 34" waist. Yet my "BMI" is technically over 25%, so I'm "overweight." Ludicrous. BMI numbers are not only bulls--t, they're downright dangerous to rely upon.
When I bought my first computer, I asked my college computer science professor if I should get Windows or Mac. He said “Which interface copied which? There’s your answer.” I got a Performa 640 (which could dual-boot into Windows, JUST in case!).
The Speak & Math was gray plastic as opposed to the Speak & Spell’s bright orange. (I suppose they could’ve painted an old Speak & Spell gray, but why? Seems more likely they used a Math.) Also, the later 1980 Speak & Spell units also had membrane keyboards.
Close. It’s a modified Speak & Math.
Not a joke; I have two Wi-Fi networks at my house (top). Tonight, I opened my Wi-Fi settings to find this. Whichever of my neighbors did this: Well played, sir. Well played. 🤣
Those are Colombian artifacts (colloquially known as “Quimbaya airplanes”). Erica Ortegas’ personnel file says she’s from Colombia, so this tracks.
Just received notice that the original camera masters and physical release copies of the feature I did in 2009 have been destroyed. It was overdue (long-term physical storage of films is impractical and wasteful at this point), but it still feels weird. Sigh.

August 17 marks "National Nonprofit Day"! Helicon—the cinematic arts foundation behind YESTERDAY WAS A LIE and the upcoming NONLOCALITY—is one of only 1% of nonprofit organizations in the US which have earned GuideStar's "Platinum" rating. A huge "thank you" to our supporters!

"They say 'Time is the fire in which we burn.'" While duty calls and precludes my attendance, I shall still greatly miss STLV25. To honor the past, here's a small memento of times long gone. A salute to my friends who endeavor to undertake the journey! Have a beer for me, if you feel so inclined.
Or, their “past associates” were tube grubs. 😉
Still got mine, still wear mine.
