The Court next addresses the credibility of the parties’ evidence and witnesses. After reviewing all the evidence submitted to the Court and listening to the testimony elicited at the preliminary injunction hearing, during depositions, and in other court proceedings, the Court finds Defendants’ evidence simply not credible. Plaintiffs submitted a mountain of evidence, providing the Court with over eighty declarations, numerous videos and articles, and other evidence. Defendants did not rebut anything that Plaintiffs set forth in their declarations or testimony, even with BWC footage.
[FN 6] In another case considering some of the same evidence presented to this Court, another court in this district also found that the perceptions of certain of Defendants’ declarants, such as Hott and Parra, were not reliable. See Illinois v. Trump, No. 25-cv-12174, 2025 WL 2886645, at *5 (N.D. Ill. A central part of ICE's strategy here is to keep detainees hungry and thirsty in squalor to incentivize them to sign self-deportation papers to escape their inhumane conditions. And of course, they also lie to their captives about what they are signing.
Agustin Zamacona, who speaks and reads English, further says an agent in Broadview tried to get him to sign a self-deportation form by telling him it was court paperwork.
"I saw they weren't court papers, they were for deportation, so I didn't sign it," he says.

Between the tariffs, the immigration crackdown, and cuts to SNAP, Trump is creating a mass crisis in U.S. farming. And a lot of this stuff can't be walked back. Chinese markets for Argentine soybeans won't just switch back when Trump TACOs again. Bankrupt farmers can't just bounce back next year.
Not only is it going to be a hunger crisis, it's going to be a farm crisis. All those gallons of milk bought from dairy farmers, all the produce, all the on sale ground beef and packs of chicken that are paid for by SNAP are subsidies to farmers who don't qualify for commodities subsidies.
