Happy one year on oestrogen day to all who celebrate.

Spoiler alert: It's me.

I've got some news to share as I continue my journey of self-discovery towards being my authentic self. It hasn't been easy and I felt keeping it under wraps for a while was the safer option, but the time feels right.

Today marks a very special day in my ongoing journey of self-discovery to live as my authentic self.

One year ago, on March 2, 2024, I started hormone replacement therapy, and began taking oestrogen as I undertake my transition.

It was a massive step for me to make, and one I wish I had taken far sooner, but it's better late than never.

My name is not changing, nor are my pronouns. I will still be Poletti, and I will still be using they/them pronouns.

I still consider myself to be non-binary rather than trans, but the purpose of this journey is to help my external self reflect how I feel internally, which is not currently the case.

I thought about not posting this, because it is

a lot to put out there, and I know might bring some negativity with it.

But that also makes it the perfect time to post it, because LGBTQIA+ people, and particularly trans and gender-diverse people, are increasingly under attack in so many different ways.

The visibility of trans and gender-diverse people is even more important in these trying times (if it is safe for them to do so of course, self-preservation is incredibly important), and why I've chosen to reveal this about myself.

Thank you to everyone who has given me their support thus far, and will continue to do so in the future. It means more than you will ever know.

It would be insane if she's recovered that quickly, but ACL recovery times seem to be getting shorter on average, so we'll see.

Not that it would have mattered too much with Tony G's strategy and player choices if Simon wasn't injured, but I hope Pep makes the right choice if Mary isn't playing, but it's a Schrödinger's cat situation.

I think the worst part about watching this is that as a Raiders fan, regardless of how bad the Raiders are this year, there are so many other teams that are worse, like Miami, and the Jets.

Seeing so much football media go this way absolutely sucks, but especially when it's the league itself.

If you don't care enough to write about a game in your own league, why should I care enough to watch it, ESPECIALLY when said league is stuck behind a paywall?

As someone whose time freelancing for MLSsoccer was a vital step in my career progression, and someone who generally gleans insight from the observations of others:

This sucks so hard.

MLS is using generative AI to write match recaps. Writers used to get paid freelance rates to do that. Hssssss.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

I think we need a Royal Commision into the media landscape in Australia with a view to ensuring balanced reporting, removal of propaganda and the media role in challenging any blatant lies by politicians and corporates.

Dear President Obama,
I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza."
Palestinians have families, too.
This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. Dehumanization is part of what caused so many to stay silent as 20,000 children were killed in this genocide.
I've sat with wonderful Palestinian families from Gaza. They look at their children just like we look at ours - with all the love & hope in the world.
