There's no justification for using Twitter, folks. Not saying you have to delete your account, but if you're actively using it... come on.
Elon claims that Grok became MechaHitler because it drew too heavily from X.

Very cool that every Congressional Democrat and progressive organization is still on the neo-Nazi website!
Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, said that its Grok chatbot relied too heavily on input from users of his social media platform X after a code update, causing it to share a series of antisemitic comments on Tuesday.

I’m worried that Overton has shifted

With the new budget the admin will go “ok” & produce uniforms, rank/division badges etc

“we’ve solved the problem”

THEN they will keep doing what they are doing BUT IN UNIFORMS & elected officials, media, members of the public will see it as an improvement

It will never be comprehensible or forgivable that the man who incited a deadly insurrection and attack on our Capitol was able to run again and retake the levers of power.

there is no jurisprudence at work here. the republican court believes that anything a republican president is presumptively constitutional, even if it directly violates the unambiguous constitutional text and causes total chaos in law and policy.

It's a good day to remember that American Samoans are US "nationals," not citizens, by birth, and SCOTUS declined to hear their case a few years ago

Felt like a warning for birthright citizenship as a concept and here we are

US Supreme Court’s Decision Not To Hear American Samoa Citizenship Case Gets Mixed Reaction
Advocates had hoped the case would be a chance for the court to overturn racist case law that affects residents of all U.S. territories.

as for the upshot of the decision, the republican court has put the citizen children of non-citizens in a position similar to that of free blacks during the antebellum period. their right to enjoy the privileges and immunities of american citizenship will vary according to state borders

Meanwhile, 6 more positions are being added to the office that protects the Secretary/DepSec.

That's on top of 8 extra hired this spring to the tune of $2M for Deputy Secretary Keith Sonderling, even though the deputy secretary has never had (and does not need) their own security detail.
Deputy secretaries at DOL don't have security details. That's silly.

Keith Sonderling insisted on one because he's getting looks in the hallway.

@tpm.bsky.social reports that taxpayers will foot the bill to the tune of ~$2M/year.

This is what fascism looks like - using a conspiracy theory about a dehumanized outgroup as a pretext for seizing political power and wielding arbitrary authority. What you read about in the history books is happening right here, right now.

Totally normal rhetoric from a President. Not even Reagan was so over the top B movie villain. And he was an actual actor
Openly using law enforcement for perceived partisan political purposes, surely this is what the founders thought they created in 1787

This is from 2022 but it was absolutely right. The practiced buffoonery of Trump 1, all the "just kiddings" and "seriously but not literallys" absolutely succeeded in desensitizing people who are hardly paying any attention to the harder stuff they always intended to do next.

When a cabinet member announces "We are using the military to liberate an American city from its elected leaders," where do you go from there. What is left to say. The idea of that being anything short of a near-universal "Wait, what the fuck is going on" moment proves how far we've backslid.
