Hey!

Do YOU like the idea of an incredibly dense piece of lesbian fantasy fiction featuring a non-binary transfem vampire prince constantly going through it in order to ease the burden weighing upon an increasing number of beloved women in their lives?

Depths of Promises Sworn
Before the blood of a predecessor staining Ayre’s fangs has a chance to dry, a decision is made to bargain the freshly elevated Fourteenth Vylian Prince off to a sister imperial power. Not a week’s ri...

You have alerted the librarian. I hope you have your library card.

Went really hard with this one which is why I took so long.

You can't put a woman in a game who sings about drowning me and then not let me kiss her that should be illegal

I think my Storyteller is doing great but they're throwing out so much of the book being garbage that I would like them to find a system they actually like more.

So far my trans butch huntress has only ever killed cis humans taking orders from AI. Since then she found out her mentor is a Vampire. Has responded by making sure everyone around her gets reeeeal cool about them.

Oh. Does this Vampire Lady wanna keep me as a trophy?

I can say that Ruinous Hearts is absolutely me at my most imaginative.

Definitely proud of that. I am still reprising and playing with ideas established in that story.
irenefray.bsky.social
And Ruin is like, the least fleshed out character.

Doesn't mean she doesn't have some of my favorite romantic interactions.

This story revolves around so many good girls that are all sweet and accomodating of each other.
irenefray.bsky.social
Mechanically, it's not where I want it to be to such an extent that it needs a rewrite.

Doesn't mean that the emotions aren't felt or that the characters are not beloved by readers.

I still remember how much my lil brother ADORES Ruin. Shark girls thankfully claim a soft spot so you'll see more.
irenefray.bsky.social
I am always caught off guard by the kind of reactions Ruinous Hearts gets.

I still have saved words from Nevarii about Ruinous Hearts about wanting me to just do this but go all out with it.

Ruinous Hearts just affects me so personally that I struggle to see the appeal beyond poor planning/pacing.

The idea of whether or not I deserve a name is... definitely worth refuting.

But hey, I named this story Ruinous Hearts.

My self perception was a lil fraught at the time.
irenefray.bsky.social
Verity is also my middle name.

It's... something I felt like I had to be worthy of though so be gentle with this lore about me.

Breaking away from the thread about insect characters, go read it and scroll back up to the source and discover what others talk about.

The 2nd main character of Ruinous Hearts, Verity (not Vessel) remains so important to my own self perception that I commissioned art of her and her cloud hair.
Screenshot of a white cloud haired girl with big round glasses leaning over a desk.

Her clothes are very comfy.

A lil signature of the artist Meg is in the corner.

If you wanna learn more, I remain quite proud of Runious Hearts.

The emotions and dreamlike worlds I aspire to craft are on full display in this story.

It is much more light hearted despite the subject matter.

Creating/maintaining yourself and understanding others is central to how it works.
Ruinous Hearts
A young and tempestuous Storm filled with thunder and resignation tears into two distinctly conscious selves. One wakes to a world of dreams and is given an opportunity to change her stars. Another wa...

And that's why I called her Whipser~!
irenefray.bsky.social
She could skitter her way into your body and help you hook things up properly if you really needed hands on care or a physical component to your validation.

Big gestures weren't her thing, but sometimes it is the quiet words that mean all the world to me.
irenefray.bsky.social
This was also my first ever attempt at first person.

Only I made everyone's personhood very fraught. If I could not define it, then the characters themselves would fall apart on the page.

Whisper was one of my later reveals, after I was getting confident at articulating what I wanted.
irenefray.bsky.social
This was the first story I wrote after transitioning for a public audience.

Being trans wasn't enough to capture my experience.

I needed to convey sharing a body with someone else and Whisper was the most at peace with herself in her body but least accepted by the world and people around her.
irenefray.bsky.social
So much of that story was articulating relationships with one's own body or mind.

One of the core concepts were that everyone was bound together by aspects that needed constant validation or risk unraveling.

Whisper demonstrated how that worked on a very detail oriented level.
irenefray.bsky.social
One of my favorite of expressions of needing to invent plurality for myself involved a body operated by a number of spiders tugging at silk strands. The main user of the voice chamber was named Whisper.

I remember her first day of school she didn't hide her visible swarm and it distressed everyone!
