Bits and pieces of my life,
putting words to feelings and emotions
a sense of satisfaction, of completion as I acknowledge them.
Largely unheard,
unseen
to all but me.
But it is enough.
Welcome ...
Nice imagery 😎
a small but:
"what they have sewn"?
A whole cloth?
I remember camping mornings
with a handful of us clustered
around a nascent fire
rocking foot to foot
metal cups in hand
silently urging the fire-blackened coffee pot into action.
I'd heard of Keb' Mo', but never ventured.
My background music today - it just feels good, soothing on my soul awash in current events.

Well said.
As a reader, I'm looking for an authentic voice, something with personality. Injecting a bit of yourself into the story makes it feel more honest, more genuine.
Yes, even in fiction (fantasy, sci-fi, romance, etc)
I don't see this as a political issue
or even a philosophical one
I see it as an existential one.
I took that opportunity to retire.
I planned my own obsolescence.
"If it gets narrative to your brain, that’s good."
Absolutely!
My disengagement from e-books is pragmatic; I already get enough screen time. I generally read before bedtime, and physical books eliminate that last dose of blue light. I fall asleep faster and sleep better. Personal pref.

Suits my mood on this cold and very windy October morning ...
This reminds me of the bathroom sink scene in Stephen King's "It".
As usual, the book is scarier ... and weirder.📖
I blame it on the creature that invaded my dream last night.
"a rather blustery day" here as well 💨
The big reveal:
In my younger years, I took lots of pictures during driving/camping vacations across the Northwest and the Southwest.

I just realized that 90% of those pictures are SLIDES.

My only excuse is: it was the 70s.
#Kodachrome is a beautiful thing!
Digitizing would cost a fortune I bet.
As a long-time resident of the PSW, I always enjoyed vacations "up" to Norcal, OR, WA. Talk about a change of scenery!
My memories:
Serene. Peaceful. The scrunching of fallen leaves under your feet. Breathing in the scent of the living forest in the cool, moist air.

Keep on keeping on, one day at a time.
I'm old enough to remember the uproar from the Religious Right (an oxymoron) when the Beatles landed on our shores.
Nowadays they would have been ICEd.
What's happening is seriously fucked up.

My worst writing occurs when I see how I want the piece to end, and I start writing to make that ending happen. It never works. My usual process is to keep writing until I'm done. And that's the end.
In writing, as in life.
Based on the profile of the islands, and the location (Cabrillo Natl Monument in San Diego), those are the Coronado Islands, belonging to the country of Mexico.
(San Diego native)
I like this. It has the effect of a triptych (had to verify the spelling)
Or the panels of a folding screen. Yeah, I can see that.
😎
There used to be a saying about "counting to ten" before responding to others. Take time to consider one's words before reacting. Wait a moment before you hit .

#StayHuman ... as you would want them to treat you.

We're all interconnected, whether we like it or not. What if we each decided to be less selfish, less quick to respond harshly, less self-absorbed? We all have those traits, but we can consciously opt to bend away from them & bend instead towards humanity.
