By a 41-7 vote, the Washington Senate just directed the state's building code council to adopt updated regulations for elevators in buildings with up to six stories or 24 units, "minimally sized to meet federal accessibility requirements."

ST:
Sitting here open-mouthed at this Sound Transit board presentation, because it was just explained that making Ballard Link's Seattle Center station "slightly trapezoidal" would save the agency a HALF BILLION DOLLARS.

don’t tell me this is also the person who killed the Living Computer Museum
The truth about Jody Allen owner of the #Seahawks. A little bit of fact checking, is all it takes people. Yeah, turns out most rich fucks have skeletons in their closet. Her brother is even worse.

Stop thinking she's some kind of saint.

Ridership on Seattle's Link Light Rail continues rising amid the system's many expansions, helping Seattle have the strongest year-on-year ridership growth of any major metro area in 2025!

Link ridership rose more than 27% in 2025, and its two lines will be connected in March!

I’m wearing my Save Curby shirt to every public comment I give until Saka leaves office
What he is really trying to do is close the book on Curby so he can start focusing on reelection. That's not gonna happen ROB

we need to make this block one car lane wide and buses only. this bike lane is dangerous in its usual state of being way too narrow
Barely 24 hours later and the Pine & 4th temporary bike safety barrier is already nearly a foot out of position.

This is unsustainable.

@seattledot.bsky.social can we get another work order to restore it before it becomes a significant mobility obstruction and safety hazard?

another day, another time SEPA is being abused for political reasons instead of actually protecting the environment
Those permits are currently facing a SEPA appeal over traffic, despite the previous existence of said Sam's Club
WinCo Foods is asking its Facebook followers, "about the possibility of having a WinCo in North Seattle."

Permits have been filed for the former Sam's Club location (13550 Aurora Ave N), which is across the street from an Amazon Fresh that will close this weekend. www.facebook.com/winco.offici...

Bob Kettle in shambles after seeing this
I was thrilled to meet with Mayor Michelle Wu (@mayorwu.boston.gov) today at Boston City Hall. I can't think of anyone better to learn from about what it takes to be an effective, progressive big-city mayor.

I just called and left voice mail messages for Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to encourage them to vote no on DHS funding. It took less than 5 minutes. I didn’t need a script. Make your voice heard.

Transit riders have been forced to sit through traffic on Seattle’s slowest and least reliable bus for decades. Finally we have a mayor willing to prioritize mobility and the climate to improve our transit system and give Seattleites the freedom of mobility they deserve. Roll out the red carpet!

if running ICE ads wasn’t enough for you to quit Spotify, you should know most indie artists aren’t even getting a few pennies anymore for their streams. apparently that was too much of a financial burden for Spotify to pay out
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR A BUS LANE ON DENNY WAY LET'S GO
"Secondly, we're gonna get out the red paint on Denny Way"—finally painting the long-delayed bus lanes to expedite the Route 8, the city's slowest route. "I know the feeling of sitting on the bus, knowing that you could be walking up the hill faster."

Next month Sound Transit will begin simulated service across the bridge. During this phase they'll run trains as if in regular service to validate operations and systems.

✅ During simulated service ST intends to welcome passengers on trains between International District/Chinatown and Lynnwood. 3/6

Maybe we should consider ferry service that focuses on moving people instead of cars so that it's easier to have slack in the system.
