I don’t think the weight of the people will be as much of an issue as the weight of materials needed to widen the bridge

what I would do to start is just make one of the lanes each direction bus only (similar to what I'd do for the Ballard Bridge). then maybe figure out a way to make the grate safer for bikes and convert the entire bridge to bus/bike only

wouldn't they have to drastically modify the bridge to do that? can't build in because of the trusses. can't build out because of the extra weight on the span which the lifting mechanism was not designed for

it’s criminal the amount of space there is for cars (two lanes each way and each at least 11 ft wide, right?) vs the amount of space for all bikes and pedestrians (including wheelchairs) which is one lane each way and only 6 feet wide

I'm the largest portion used to be a huge woodworking and glassworking shop. there was an athletic thing in one of the smaller sections too. idk about a Christian print shop though

I actually helped a different org scope out that building a little while ago. we decided against using it because it was so far away from any amenities and the road was so dangerous

traffic cameras everywhere. only managed by SDOT directly, storage deleted ASAP (less than hourly). actually enforcing no cars in bus lanes, no cars in bike lanes, no cars making illegal turns, and speed limits
