This might be the podcast series that finally gets me to overcome my distaste for podcasts. Must listen for anyone interested in Gaza and Palestine.
Agreed, probably the best source for a detailed but easily digestible background on the history & nuances of this region. Anyone commenting on Gaza at this point who hasn’t listened to it needs to sit themselves down & take the plunge.
I've just finished listening to a massive 11-part series on the history of Gaza (it starts with the Philistines!) on @empirepoduk.bsky.social with @anitaanand.bsky.social and @willdalrymple.bsky.social and I have to say it's extraordinary. Start here: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/2...

Repro wins so far:

- Virginia protected its status as the last abortion access haven in the South

- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court retained the three Democratic justices needed to protect abortion

- New Jersey elected a Dem governor (vital as one of the few states w/zero abortion restrictions)

The arc of Zohran Mamdani's success is nothing short of staggering. At the start of the year, he was polling at 1%. Now, at age 34, he will be New York City’s youngest leader in more than a century. nyti.ms/43Mi5Z3

Tonight is many things, but it is among other things, vindication for Lindsey, for being brave and speaking up about Cuomo's abuse towards her and other women.
I’m very superstitious of election night, but not today.

Republicans thought they had a permanent hold over young men. They didn't.

Spanberger wins men 18-29 by 14%, Sherrill by 10%, and Mamdani by a stunning 40%.

Many nonprofit boards.
A government of the people, for the people, so long as the people don't threaten the bottom line.
