This book was the first one my mom read in English after arriving from Spain; it also gave her the language to understand her body when she had no idea what was going on and her conservative family wouldn't explain what a menstrual cycle was. Book bans rob kids of knowledge

Please remember that these bans are not happening in bookSTORES but in public libraries and public schools, this is how MAGA lies when they say they're not "banning books" because you can still buy them. Support your local libraries! Get a library card!

I ask my students this at the start of the semester and they almost all admit to stop reading once they hit puberty and/or got a phone. My female students did get back into reading thanks to BookTok and I'm not one to judge their reading choices. Enjoy the fae romance babes, the world is on fire
