I checked hours earlier this week, looking for a place to donate apples on Monday. Albuquerque's big food pantries are down to 3-day schedules, open 2-3 hours at a time. I am not sure if that is due to a shortage of supplies or volunteers. I'll ask.

This post has so many Albuquerque NM spots that are doing similarly. It’s great to see how they are integrating it into the business to take away the stigma.

Okay the horchata shake at Blake's is a no from me. The cinnamon is nice but it tastes like ... Rice Krispies? I thought it might be weird but I didn't expect specifically in this way. #newmexico #albuquerque

I'm very proud of my state for even trying to provide free universal child care. Yes, it's bold, but we're bold, so I know the program will succeed.

BE SURE TO ADD THE NOTE.

Also, if this is your first exposure to me doing this and you're wondering whether it's a scam?

I run a local online mutual-aid group. I run threads nightly. And mutuals on here know that we've used this method for years when there's no other option.

ANYBODY who has anything to spare for grocery gift cards for folks in the Taos NM area, send it to Aji. She'll buy the cards & distribute them. (Put "SNAP replacement" in the notes.)

& yes, I personally vouch for her & her good work.
Here's that link again: paypal.me/diegowings.

Do NOT forget to add the note. [If you want it allocated to a particular grocery store add that.]

See you in an hour or so with the day's regular stuff.

That's how ABQ is. A few years ago every single school was rando canceled mid week because the SIS (student info system) was down. A handful of restaurants all over the city were quick to announce if you were a student they had a free meal for you.

UNM Albuquerque is allowing Turning Point USA to do their thing (peddle one-sided, reactionary hate speech as "open dialogue") on campus. Glad there was a protest in response this morning, and that the flyer went suitably hard:
