WAS ZUR HÖLLE, sagt da öffentlich der #Bundeskanzler? Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund stören ihn im #Stadtbild u deswegen muss es im großen Umfang Rückführungen geben?
was stört ihn? Dunkle Haut? Krause Haare? Ein Kopftuch? So eine Aussage klingt nach ethnischer Säuberung u Verstoß gg Art 1 GG.

Wow, that seems like a lot of flying… Example from my field: during my Ph.D. I had the privilege to visit the VLT observatory in Chile several times. It was of course exciting, but also quite wasteful in terms of emissions. One time I was there for just half a night of observations.

Thanks, Peter. Digital meetings (or even just messages as @nixrust.bsky.social points out) are indeed not just much more energy-efficient, they also save a lot of time. The solution is obviously not to ban all meetings, but to ask critically what the goals of a specific (in-person) meeting are.

Interessant, wie sich die Verhältnisse umkehren. Aber erschreckend, wie die Zahl der Autos explodiert ist! Bis zu fast 700 Autos pro 1000 Menschen. Wenn pro Auto 1,4 Menschen fahren, könnten damit alle Menschen 24/7 nur noch Autofahren. Aber das tun wir zum Glück nicht. Warum also so viele Autos?

Noch 1981 gab es in #Wien pro 1.000 Einwohner:innen mehr Autos als im Burgenland, in #Graz #Linz #Innsbruck und Stadt #Salzburg mehr als im Rest des Bundeslands. Früher waren viele Autos ein Zeichen von Wohlstand, heute von Mangel an Öffis, Nahversorgung, Radwegen, ... vcoe.at/presse/press...

Das ist eine gute Nachricht! Sie zeigt, wie stark die Erneuerbaren wachsen. Um die Klimakrise zu bekämpfen, muss aber vor allem die Verbrennung fossilen Rohstoffe beendet werden. Es führt kein Weg an mehr #Effizienz und #Suffizienz vorbei…

Hm, yes, depressing that this is still the case. There a few programmes trying to help it, but I guess they are simply not enough? E.g. my daughter (now 15) received an intro course programming for girls last year, which she really liked, but it was only for a few weeks.
