“Those who can afford the umbrellas to protect themselves from cloud fascism, who without any protest buy the burner phone, have their dignity broken too, even if they numb their heart not to feel it”

Can the term ‘cloud fascism’ help us understand – and resist – the hard right?

I will forever be haunted by this footage.

Trawling has only been filmed underwater a few times in documentary history, and never with such clarity.

What’s so heart-rending about these shots is watching how the animals don’t just get swept up — they swim for their lives.

Red Dress Day when Métis artist Jamie Black hung hundreds of red dresses to honour Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people. It has since become an annual day, taking place every May 5 — a movement to honour lives lost, and to demand justice.

Lots of people on my feed are concerned about the destruction of NOAA by the Trump administration and Elon Musk, but much of what I’ve seen people post about is the national weather service. That’s vital, but NOAA does so much more than that!
