Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Today was a fantastic day! Two other teachers at my school and I just happen to have previously worked together at the @tnaquarium.bsky.social and today we were invited to bring a group of students to participate in a sturgeon release. The kids had a blast!

1. Surprise observation by all my admin on a full moon day & the students are *rowdy*

2. People are mad and/or disappointed in me & are explaining why in excruciating detail

3. IBS flair up while out in public & there are no restrooms

i’ve posted some version of this many times so i finally decided to make my case for it: taxing the rich is not only good for us. it is good for them. having a billion dollars is like toxic waste for your soul. we can and should remove it from them. it’s the loving thing to do!
